New product: replacement IOR radio modules, live on the site now.
People have been asking us for these for a long time, and until now the honest answer was that we couldn't do it efficiently.
Here's why. Other main infotainment modules like HMI's and CSM's have a fairly clean structure. A handful of types, and once you know your RPO code you're most of the way there. IOR isn't like that. GM fitted it across a dozen nameplates over eight model years, and the receiver a given vehicle needs depends on things that aren't obvious and aren't documented in one place and unlike the HMI and CSM the commonality for these is almost non existent. There's no simple clean lookup method. We could have guessed, but selling someone a $300 part that doesn't fit their truck isn't a business we want to be in.
So we did it the old fashioned way (slowly!). We went through the parts catalog application by application, platform code by platform code, and built the fitment map ourselves; Over 130 part numbers.
A few things that came out of it, worth knowing if you're diagnosing one yourself:
Screen size doesn't matter. IOR came with a 7" or an 8" display, and the receiver behind them is the same part. On that note we are looking into what it takes to do an IOR 8" upgrade on 7" vehicles.
SiriusXM does matter. Vehicles built with satellite radio take a different receiver, and this is a factory replacement, so it has to match how your vehicle was built.
And then the genuinely strange instances. GM changed the 2020 Camaro receiver partway through the model year, on February 15th 2020, and the two versions aren't interchangeable. The 2019 and 2020 Camaro and the 2020 Malibu also split on whether the car has active noise cancellation. That kind of thing is exactly why this took as long as it did.
The good news is you don't have to know any of it. Enter your VIN, the page identifies your vehicle, and it only asks the questions your specific vehicle actually needs. For most people that's one question. For a 2024 Silverado it's "do you have SiriusXM" and nothing else.
The one thing we can't do for you is confirm the RPO code on your own vehicle. Scan the QR code on your driver door or B-pillar and look for IOR. If you see IOS, IOU, IOT, IOK or IOV instead, you have a CSM. Different system, different part, and we sell those too.
Fits 2018 through 2026 Silverado, Sierra, Equinox, Malibu, Camaro, Blazer, Terrain, Colorado, Canyon and Acadia. Brand-new OEM, programmed to your VIN, plug and play. No dealer visit, no core to send back, full GM warranty.
Still to come: the Trax, Traverse, Trailblazer, Encore GX and Envista use IOR in a combined screen and receiver assembly on the 7" cars, and those aren't covered yet. If you have one of those with an 8" screen and it isn't showing in the selector, send us your VIN and we'll get it added!
