UPDATE #2: SEEKING PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE
On October 27, 2026, at approximately 8:38 PM, members of the Jacksonville Police Department responded to a collision at North Marine Boulevard and Queens Road. The initial investigation revealed that a vehicle collided with a black Harley Davidson, ultimately leading to the motorcyclist’s death.
The driver of the motorcycle, later identified as 22-year-old Kendall Papenfuse of Richlands, NC, was traveling on North Marine Boulevard when another unidentified vehicle was turning left onto the same road, failing to yield to the motorcyclist. As a result, Mr. Papenfuse lost control of his motorcycle, was ejected, and collided with the front bumper of a silver Nissan Altima. The driver of that vehicle was uninjured. Mr. Papenfuse was provided life-saving CPR on scene by first responders, transported to Naval Medical Center, and pronounced deceased at the hospital. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
JPD Traffic Division is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle that fled the scene. The vehicle is thought to be a smaller SUV, possibly a Hyundai, with damage to the left rear corner. The vehicle was last seen turning from Queens Road and traveling north along US 17.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator J. Merriman at (910) 938-6454 or [email protected] or Crime Stoppers at 910-750-7082.
