Meet Zaylen “Zay” Grimes, the determined young racer behind ZKG22 Racing! Zaylen can be found racing TMXA, Western Kentucky Arenacross, or Southern Kentucky Arenacross.
At just 8 years old, Zay is chasing big dreams on four wheels. But his journey is about much more than racing.
Zay first began riding at just 4 years old, during a life-changing time when he lost his father. What started as a love for riding grew into a passion that has helped shape his confidence, determination, and competitive spirit. Racing has become more than a sport for Zay—it’s an outlet, a source of joy, and a way to turn life’s challenges into motivation.
Since entering competitive ATV racing, Zay has earned a podium finish in every race he’s competed in, demonstrating his natural talent, dedication, and drive to succeed. Whether battling for position, navigating challenging track conditions, or putting in countless hours of practice, Zay gives his all every time he lines up at the gate.
Beyond his success on the track, Zay is learning the importance of hard work, sportsmanship, perseverance, and never giving up—even when life gets tough. Most importantly we have found friends who have become family at the track.
