This motor failed our leakdown test with 27% leak while trying to diagnose why it would run so we got customer approval to dig deeper.

Found one decent score mark in the cylinder - enough to catch your fingernail on and wear all the way through the nikasil and start to show aluminum.

Piston ring ends we're also overlapped, not staggered.

Time for some TLC! She gonna have lots of compression after we're done with her!

This is why we replace every single WP fork seal snap ring with a stainless steel clip! $12 set of clips will eliminate the potential for rust to contaminate your fork seals.

Cam journals have left the chat. Turns out motors need oil to stay running 🤷

When was the last time you had your suspension serviced??
Based on 20 years of experience, we've found the ideal service cycle for most of our customers is between 60-100hrs.
Closer to 60hrs if you are more aggressive and/or racing. Closer to 100hrs if you are a more casual rider.
For the asterisk-holes out there, yes, there are always exceptions that could dictate servicing before or after the 60-100hrs recommendation.

Classic older YZ250 shift detent bearing sending metal through the motor. Older KTMs had the same problem. Both have since upgraded to a solid metal wheel instead of a bearing.
