BMWBLOG reports that the first BMW iX4 is expected to make its debut this fall, with production scheduled to begin in November. Even more significant: BMW has confirmed there won't be a combustion-engine successor to the outgoing X4.

BMW’s Neue Klasse era is officially getting real. The new BMW iX3 is expected to begin U.S. deliveries in September, bringing a new generation of BMW electric technology, including an 800-volt architecture and seriously fast charging.
BMW says the iX3 can add hundreds of miles of range in about 10 minutes under ideal fast-charging conditions. That’s a major step forward.
