๐๐๏ธ FALL RIDING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! ๐๏ธ๐
๐ฅต Even though weโre looking at temperatures around 100ยฐ this week, cooler weather IS on the way!
Before long, those hot summer rides will give way to crisp mornings, comfortable afternoons, colorful hillsides, and some of the best riding weather of the year.
Fall in the Ozarks means winding roads surrounded by shades of red, orange, and goldโand plenty of reasons to get the bike out and put on some miles. ๐๐๏ธ
But all that fall beauty also brings a few hazards we need to watch for:
๐ Leaves on the road โ especially when wet, leaves can be as slick as they look beautiful.
๐ซ๏ธ Fog & shorter daylight โ morning and evening visibility can change quickly.
๐ฆ Deer & wildlife โ activity increases during the fall, particularly around dawn and dusk.
๐ก๏ธ Big temperature swings โ that comfortable afternoon ride can become a chilly ride home. Bring layers!
๐ง๏ธ Damp roads & shaded curves โ moisture can linger longer in areas that don't get much sunlight.
๐ Harvest season traffic โ watch for farm equipment, gravel, mud, and debris on rural roads.
And remember, those beautiful fall colors can be distracting. Enjoy the scenery, but keep your eyes up, look through the curves, and stay focused on the road ahead.
๐ Enjoy the colors.
๐๏ธ Enjoy the curves.
๐ Stay alert.
โค๏ธ Ride safe.
The heat may still be here now, but fall riding season is comingโand weโre ready for it!
๐ธ Whatโs your favorite road to ride when the fall colors start changing?
