When original parts are no longer available, precision fabrication can keep a classic looking factory.

The original factory grille on this Oldsmobile Hurst had multiple broken mounting points, and purchasing a replacement wasn’t an option. Using 3D scanning, we captured precise measurements from the original part and recreated the missing mounting clips. The new clips were then secured with a high-strength epoxy designed to bond the plastics together, creating a durable repair built to last.

The Uniden R9 display was integrated directly into the original factory rearview mirror by Radar-Mirror, maintaining an OEM-quality appearance while keeping factory features like auto-dimming, HomeLink and the digital compass fully functional.

Miguel is using Fusion 360 to design a custom mount for the GLADEN GLADIATOR control k**b. The GLADIATOR gives the driver quick control over volume, subwoofer level, DSP functions, and system presets, with an RGB status ring for visual feedback. (

Instead of settling for a generic mounting solution, we’re designing the part specifically for this vehicle and this installation to look better than factory.

Once the design is finalized, it goes straight from the CAD model to our in-house 3D printer, allowing us to manufacture the exact component we need right here at Vega Designs.

This isn’t just an “old-school” Pioneer radio. It’s an audiophile-grade control center. 🔊

The copper-plated chassis may be unnecessary for an ordinary head unit and that’s why Pioneer used it in its flagship SQ equipment because copper helps shield the delicate electronics from radio-frequency and magnetic interference. In simple terms, it keeps unwanted electrical noise out so the signal going into the Mosconi Pro amplifiers stays as clean as possible.

And when you’re running massive subwoofers with the goal of SQ, clean signal matters. Big bass may shake the vehicle, but the system still needs clarity, separation and control. Otherwise, it’s just loud amplified noise.

This Pioneer also functions more like a DSP that happens to also be a radio. This gives the installer detailed control over equalization, crossovers, time alignment and individual speaker channels, allowing the entire system to be tuned around the vehicle and listening position.

The result? Old-school Pioneer engineering, modern precision and enough bass to shake your teeth loose without any unwanted electrical noise.

Taking our stealth countermeasure installations to the next level with our new 3D scanner.

Even complicated installs like this one, with a large grille obstructing the bumper, become much quicker and more precise with the right tools. The scanner gives us the ability to accurately capture the vehicle and determine the ideal locations for our custom-designed, in-house fabricated shifter pods.

By scanning we can save time in the design process, which means we can spend more time where it matters: dialing in the fit, leveling the pods, and verifying the installation.
