The first letter indicates the vehicle type (e.g., "P" for Passenger), while the three-digit number that follows is the width of the tire in milli...

Our nighttime temps are going to be dropping here in the valley this week. Many of you may be looking at a tire pressure light on you dash in the mornings, because of this. It's entirely normal. The pressure in your tires drop with the temperature. The ideal gas law (PV=nRT) explains how tire pressure is affected by temperature: if the volume of the tire (V) is constant, an increase in temperature (T) increases the pressure (P). This is why a tire's pressure is higher on a hot day and lower on a cold day, as temperature changes affect the air molecules inside the tire. The good news is that you just need to top off your tire pressure at these new lower temps. If you need, you can always swing by the shop and we will take care of that for you. Stay safe, and maintain the correct tire pressures!
