Race Car Wednesday 🏁
Before four-second Top Fuel runs became the standard, Eddie Hill shocked the drag racing world by becoming the first driver to break into the four-second zone in 1988 at Texas Motorplex. 🔥

The guy was fast on land and sea. Hill originally retired from Top Fuel in 1966, stepped away for years, dominated drag boat racing in the 1970s, then returned to NHRA competition in the mid-1980s and quickly became one of the fastest drivers in the sport. 🏁

Race Car Wednesday 🏁
Burnouts aren’t just for the crowd. The primary job of a burnout is to heat the rear tires until the rubber reaches its ideal operating temperature. Warmer tires become more consistent, providing the traction racers need for a hard launch.

Too little burnout can leave the tires cold. Too much can shorten tire life.
