Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA) was formed in 1965 through the merger of two established railroad industry groups and today represents manufacturers, suppliers, engineers, contractors, and consultants involved in railroad maintenance-of-way equipment, products, and services. Along with strong partnerships across major industry organizations and government agencies, REMSA hosts the largest maintenance-of-way exhibition in the United States, showcasing innovative rail products, equipment, safety technologies, and services that help the industry operate more efficiently, while highlighting its members’ long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality solutions to the railroad industry.

The association plays a key role in advancing communication and collaboration within the railroad sector. All this and more is why Road & Rail Services is proud to be affiliated with REMSA.

Road & Rail Services’ May Power Player is David Veit, whose superpower is his dedication!

David is a Terminal Manager in Huntsville, and is known for his hands-on leadership and his dedication to keeping his team safe. He’s always looking for ways to decrease risks, and develop new processes to increase efficiency. He consistently mentors his team, and encourages them to strive for excellence.

In the words of Team Lead Darian Wyenandt, who nominated David, “Dave calls it like it is! If he sees a potential safety violation from any team, he immediately takes action to ensure that team member understands what they are doing wrong, and how to correct it. He wants all of us to have the knowledge that he has and goes above and beyond to show us different ways to look at things, different ways to utilize the yard, and to look ahead and plan for future moves. He communicates with VP about every move to be made on the ramp, ensuring the safety of all teams.”

This dedication to safety speaks for itself: HSV Rail has been injury free for 4 years. This commitment to safety is the core principle of Road & Rail Services, and we work hard to cultivate our safety first culture at every site, through every single team member.

Congratulations, David!
