Singer Vehicle Design The Porsche 911 Restored - Reimagined - Reborn Singer Vehicle Design was founded in 2009 to explore the creative possibilities in classic vehicle design.

We see our role as 21st Century coachbuilders dedicated to the passionate study, preservation and optimization of the world’s most respected high performance vehicles through modern techniques and unique and fresh perspectives. Our first design study was an attempt to present a restored and optimized, classic air-cooled Porsche 911 – in our view the most important sports car on the planet and wor

thy of such celebration both for its iconic status and the genius of the company that produced it. Our efforts were well received and we forged ahead with the necessary research and development to bring its features to a wider audience. We were pleased to share the news that barely a year after our debut, the first Singer modified vehicle was presented back to its owner in September 2010. Our work involves taking a customer’s existing vehicle and performing both restorative work and cutting edge modifications to update the car's performance, aesthetics and modern day useability in an attempt to optimize its strengths while preserving the essence and magic of the original. We see these restorative and modification procedures as a modest contribution to the recycling culture and a method of saving older vehicles from an uncertain fate. As our work evolves, we are proud to announce two important new partners in this process: the internationally renowned motorsport engineering powerhouse Cosworth will be our exclusive engine constructor, and the globally recognized Aria Group will provide state-of-the-art composite technology and world-class body preparation and painting artisanship. Such partnership brings new levels of sophistication, efficiency and reliability to our work. It also ensures that we can meet the increasing demand and retain and build upon our burgeoning reputation for first-class ex*****on. The depth of dialogue established between the worlds of automotive design, fine watchmaking and leatherwork are immediately communicated through the interior of the turbocharged cabriolet.  
 
Natural leather hues, warm golden floating gauges and touches of the exterior color work in harmony to create a seamless relationship between the interior and exterior.  
 
Behind the sports-focused seats, upholstered in natural leather over a technical wooden shell, lies a luggage compartment developed specifically for the car’s unique form. It is crafted from varnished wood using the same technique employed for runabout decks.  
 
Door panels have been reconsidered, now offering a bespoke design with space for garment bags that fold flat against the cabin with a hanger and name tag inside. 
 
The dashboard is crafted from a single piece of wood, receiving hand finishing to harmonize with other wooden elements throughout the car.  
 
A bespoke dashboard clock is integrated within the natural leather upholstery of the dash and utilizes a functional mount that allows for removal and display beyond the cabriolet’s cabin.  
 
Beneath the dashboard clock, a six-speed manual transmission delivers power to the rear wheels, and the gearshift trim references the silhouette of the Noé bag through its natural leather drawstring.

Once the design of the coupé was finalised, the creative collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Singer was strengthened and extended by another complementary project.  
 
Working closely with the teams at Singer, nicolasghesquiere realized his vision for the ideal car: a vehicle open to the world, to nature and to the fullness of life, making the choice of a cabriolet an obvious one.  
 
Specified to reference Calcaire Lutétien, the white limestone that has shaped the Parisian landscape, including the Louis Vuitton’s historic headquarters at Pont Neuf, the turbocharged carbon fiber bodywork is complemented by gold accents that adorn the car like subtle jewels, and the natural hues of the leather closure straps and bespoke wood finishes inside and out. 
 
Each component is unique, integrating various wooden features, including the bumpers, which presented an additional challenge for the designers and engineers involved in this project.  
 
The rear-opening luggage compartment stands as an impressive feat of engineering, revealing a teak-inspired wooden deck that extends the dialogue with the timeless beauty of classic motorboats.  
 
The lightweight soft top, which is itself inspired by the nautical world, can easily be stowed within the rear compartment when desired. A unique rear light bar lens carries the House’s work mark, revealing the distinctive signature after dark.

Louis Vuitton has adorned the interior of the first restoration with its signature; the cabin is entirely upholstered in leather with a natural hue inspired by VVT leather, one of the House’s most recognisable leathers.  
 
Meticulously executed by Singer’s team of leather specialists, details such as the edges of the door handles feature the same edge-dyeing technique used on Louis Vuitton bags.  
 
The carbon fiber sports-focused seats are trimmed in a matching VVT-inspired leather, with diamond-patterned embossing on the seats stitched in yellow thread echoing the “malletage” motif characteristic of the inside of Louis Vuitton trunks. 
 
Seat ventilation eyelets, synonymous with Singer’s classic services and vintage upholstery practices, have been handcrafted in silver rhodium-plated metal and display the iconic Louis Vuitton Monogram flower designs; a motif that also appears on the sun visor and headrests.

Presented in a Saffron and Cobalt Blue livery and fitted with a specially designed roof rack, which can accommodate a trunk, a surfboard or a pair of skis, this Porsche 911 was reimagined by Singer to the specification envisioned by Louis Vuitton and immediately declares its purpose: this car has been designed for epic journeys. 
 
The saffron shade, present in the House’s archives for over a century and a half and used across its packaging for more than twenty years, also resonates with Bahama Yellow, a colour shared with Singer Founder Rob Dickinson’s 1969 Porsche 911, the car that initially inspired Singer’s services. 
 
Distinctive Cobalt Blue demonstration tyres are inspired by the handles and ribbons of the House’s packaging. Similarly, the rear engine air intake grille discreetly incorporates a Cobalt Blue geometric motif formed by the initials L and V. The fuel and oil caps have been further customised, displaying distinctive typography used on Louis Vuitton watch components within their markings.

The first, a Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer - Classic, showcases an exclusive livery in Louis Vuitton’s iconic colours – saffron, cobalt blue and yellow. The car is fitted with a specially designed roof rack, which can accommodate a trunk, a surfboard or a pair of skis.

Its counterpart, a Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer – Classic Turbo, conceived by Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Women’s Collections Nicolas Ghesquière, is a cabriolet finished in Calcaire Lutétien white and complemented by precious-wood trim.
