Midterms decide far more than people admit. The president’s name may be missing from the ballot, but every congressional seat still determines whether we keep the country on a path of limited government, secure borders, and economic freedom or hand more power to those who want Washington running our lives.

I will vote Republican all the way down the ticket. The other side keeps pushing higher taxes, weaker borders, and policies that punish work while expanding dependency. Those ideas have failed everywhere they have been tried.

This November I will show up and vote for candidates who defend the Constitution, protect families, and keep government in its place. The direction of the country is still in our hands.

America pulled down Confederate statues because they represented a war that divided the nation and a cause that failed. Those monuments were judged by the conflict they commemorated and removed from public view.

The hijackers who struck on September 11 did so in the name of their religion and killed thousands of innocent people. Yet their places of worship receive protection others do not.

If statues come down because of the war they represent, mosques tied to the ideology behind 9/11 deserve the same scrutiny. Anything else is not consistency. It is willful blindness.

A subway platform is a public trust. Pushing a stranger toward an arriving train is a decision to end a life in front of commuters who paid to get home. Whether the charge is murder or attempted murder, the intent is the same: the platform becomes a weapon and the city becomes a rumor about safety.

Kamel Hawkins is twenty-three. Age is not a defense against gravity and steel. New York spent a decade talking itself out of consequences and into slogans about root causes. Root causes do not stop a body on the yellow line. A long sentence does.

Riders are done subsidizing experiments in mercy that never reach the victim. Charge the top count the facts support. Keep him held. Put the case on a calendar that does not dissolve into a plea for a slap. A city that cannot defend a platform cannot defend a civilization. Start with the platform.

Three children were killed by their mother. That should have been the starting point. Instead the accused became a cause, and the juror who refused to ignore the killings became the target.

Donations and sympathy poured in for her family. Other jurors and media voices attacked the holdout who would not treat three deaths as a medical footnote. Shaming a man for demanding accountability is a sign of decay.

Justice belongs to the victims first. Illness can explain an act. It does not erase it. A culture that praises the defendant and punishes the juror has lost its way.

GOOD! Shelley Luther refused to let officials wreck her salon and the paychecks of the women who worked there. When they threw her in jail for the “crime” of reopening so families could eat, she became living proof that ordinary people still have a spine.

North Texas voters did not forget. They sent the woman who spent nights behind bars for keeping her doors open straight to the Texas House, where she can fight the next round of shutdowns and mandates from the inside instead of from a cell.

That is how it is supposed to work. Stand up, take the hit, and let the people decide. Luther did all three, and now she writes the laws instead of sitting under them.

Parents have a right to know what a historic American group is putting on girls' uniforms. Optional faith awards exist for many religions, but mosque programs, prayer patches, and Islamic instruction have become a flashpoint for a reason. Families did not sign up for cultural replacement dressed as inclusion.

Cookie sales are a choice. If the brand drifts from leadership and outdoor skills into activism and religious programming, customers will walk. Money is the only language large organizations still hear.

No one is owed a Thin Mint. A group that forgets its core mission should not be surprised when the public stops funding it.
