💙Hearing Obama and Michelle speak today was such a powerful reminder of how great our country can be when we respect each other, put country over party, and honor American values. There is NO place for ego, division, or hatred in the America we should strive to build.

We need leaders who embody integrity, compassion, kindness, and decency. We need less outrage and more understanding. Less division and more unity.

At some point, we have to ask ourselves: What kind of country do we want to leave for the next generation, and what are we doing today to help get us there?

A bombshell new book is pulling back the curtain on what really happens inside the White House after dark, and the picture it paints of Trump is about as far from "presidential" as you can get.

According to Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, a forthcoming book by veteran White House correspondents Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, Trump's nighttime routine leaves White House staff cleaning up his messes every single morning. The 80-year-old president has developed a habit of raiding snacks late at night and leaving the evidence scattered across the floor, including empty chip bags, Starbucks wrappers, and ice cream cartons.

It gets worse. Staff were reportedly forced to begin monitoring the trash after they discovered Trump had been accidentally throwing away historic White House sterling silver utensils along with his junk food wrappers. That's right. The man entrusted with the most powerful office on earth was tossing priceless American artifacts in the garbage next to his potato chip bags.

Then there's the bathroom situation. Trump apparently insists on carpeting in his bathroom rather than standard flooring, a preference his own staff found baffling and unsanitary. The carpet nearest the shower was frequently soaked through, and aides privately worried about mold growing underneath. Their solution was to layer another piece of carpet on top rather than address the root problem. It is a fitting metaphor for this entire administration.
