another fine job by the city taking care of the handicapped population and saying anything along the way to get you to shut up about it. I approached the city about adding a handicapped parking spot where one was needed. They agreed there was a need yet it took a year and a half and a lot of calls and emails to get this. First it was cut an access in the curb, then it was take the tree by the alley down and make a good access. In the end they came out with a bucket of blue paint, painted the trip hazard curb and put up a sign, painted a stripe around to the alley and said go around. At the time they said they will fix the curb and sidewalk in 2024 as it was late in the fall. They would also replace the tree and shrubs they tore out anyway. Now Their saying first, the trees and shrubs will be replaced when they fix the sidewalk, then it’s the business owners will have to do the sidewalk as they spent to much money on the arts gallery. Why not just tell the truth in the first place? Instead of saying what someone wants to hear? Amazing how different it is one half block off the square. The down town glory committee focuses on that one block forgetting down town means more than that. In the end people can go look at art pictures in a city funded building and if you have mobility issues to bad get around this obstacle to go to a business that’s almost in the golden block. If they can lye to your face they shouldn’t hold a public office.
