Clients will often ask us if it's "okay" to mix and match different brands in a given audio system. This Sequoia is an excellent example of just how amazing a great system can be with a mix of different brands used to achieve the desired outcome.
Up front, we installed a KENWOOD USA DMX1058XR multimedia receiver using Maestro integration to deliver great signal, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto and great audio tuning features, while the Maestro module ties in all of the factory features and settings that were controlled by the factory radio.
From there, the Brax, Helix, Match by Audiotec Fischer Helix V Twelve DSP amplifier powers the entire complement of speakers, including the Hertz audio Mille Legend front three-way and rear coaxials, along with Garmin Audio custom-fit series used in the center channel and D-pillar locations. There's also an Audison 4-channel amp - bridged to 2 channels - to throw some serious power to the Mille Legend 7" midbass drivers in the front doors.
In the rear, a pair of Morel Hifi Ultimo power slim 10" subwoofers deliver an abundance of bass, thanks to the Audison Forza-series mono amplifier delivering the power.
So, for those keeping track, that's a total of 6 brands across the major components, and that's just in the audio system. There's also several rolls of SoundShield sound treatment, a Compustar remote start and security system, and finally an overhead rear-seat entertainment system from Voxx Electronics!
We say all of this, of course, to say it is perfectly find to mix brands, as long as there is great thought given to the end result during the product selection phase of the project! That's where the experience of our sales team really shines!
