This is one of those “welcome to Michigan” repairs.

That axle nut is supposed to come off with the right socket and a little persuasion. Once rust gets this bad, though, a simple job can turn into a fight pretty quick.

Corrosion around the axle, hub, and fasteners can make repairs take longer and can damage parts that would normally be reusable. This is why we always take a good look at the condition of everything around the repair, not just the part that originally failed.

This one came in for an aftermarket intake setup. A quality intake can help reduce restriction and improve airflow into the engine, which can sharpen throttle response and give the engine a little more sound when you get into it.

The big thing with any intake upgrade is fitment. You want the tubing sealed up properly, the filter protected, and the sensors reading correctly so you don’t trade an upgrade for a check engine light or drivability issue.

Brake work isn’t just about replacing parts — it’s about making sure everything is working together the way it should.

This one got fresh brakes out back. When pads and rotors wear, you can start to notice noise, vibration, longer stopping distances, or a pedal that just doesn’t feel quite right.

This is the new rear main seal installed and ready to go back together. The seal rides around the crankshaft and keeps engine oil from leaking out the back of the engine.

On a job like this, the repair itself may look simple once you’re here — getting here is the hard part. That’s why we take the time to make sure the sealing surfaces are clean and everything is installed correctly before putting the transmission back in.

Doing it right the first time matters, especially when this much has to come apart to reach the problem.

Oil leak between the engine and transmission? The rear main seal is one of the places we check.

This seal sits at the back of the engine around the crankshaft, and when it starts leaking, engine oil can work its way down between the engine and transmission. The tricky part is getting to it — on most vehicles, the transmission has to come out before the seal is even accessible.

That’s why a proper diagnosis matters. You want to be sure the leak is actually coming from the rear main before doing this much work.

This is what it can take to replace an evaporator core.

This customer came all the way from Florida to have us get the job done right the first time. On this vehicle, replacing the A/C evaporator core means pulling the entire dash just to get access to it.

The evaporator sits deep inside the HVAC box and is responsible for getting the air cold before it comes through your vents. When one starts leaking, the system can slowly lose refrigerant and the A/C quits cooling like it should. Since the part is buried this deep, making sure the problem is diagnosed correctly before tearing into it is a big deal.

It’s definitely not a small job, but when you’re taking a vehicle apart this far, doing it correctly the first time matters.
