This is why we don’t ignore battery corrosion.

This terminal had enough corrosion built up that the connection itself was damaged. A bad battery connection can cause slow cranking, intermittent no-starts, charging issues, flickering electrical systems, and plenty of headaches that can look like a much bigger problem.

Sometimes the fix is as simple as cleaning the connection. Other times, like this one, the terminal needs to be replaced so the battery can make a solid connection again.

Oil leaks don’t always mean something major inside the engine.

This one needed a new oil pan and gasket. Over time, the pan can rust, get damaged, or the gasket can start seeping and leave oil underneath the vehicle.

The important part is finding the actual source of the leak before replacing anything. Oil can travel down the engine and make it look like it’s coming from somewhere it’s not.

This tire is a good example of why alignment and suspension checks matter.

One side is worn nearly smooth while the rest of the tread still has life left. Wear like this usually tells us the tire isn’t contacting the road the way it should. Alignment can be part of it, but worn steering or suspension components can cause the same kind of problem.

Simply putting a new tire on without finding the cause can mean ruining another tire the exact same way.

A tailgate that won’t open isn’t always just a bad handle.

This one had to come apart so we could get to the latch and wiring inside the tailgate. On newer trucks, the release can involve switches, actuators, wiring, and the latch itself, so the important part is finding out what actually failed before replacing anything.

If your tailgate is sticking, only opening sometimes, or not responding at all, don’t keep forcing it. That can turn a small issue into broken trim, a damaged latch, or wiring problems.

This is the oil pump, and its job is to keep oil moving through the engine so bearings, camshafts, lifters, and other internal parts stay lubricated. When oil pressure starts dropping, damage can happen quickly if the engine keeps running.

A failing pump can show up as a low oil pressure warning, ticking or knocking noises, or pressure readings that aren’t where they should be. Before replacing one, we always want to verify the actual oil pressure and make sure there isn’t another issue causing the problem.

If that oil pressure light comes on, don’t just keep driving and hope for the best. Get it checked before a lubrication problem turns into an engine replacement.

Timing work is one of those jobs where being a tooth off can make all the difference.

With the valve cover off, you can see the camshafts and timing chain that keep everything inside the engine synchronized. If the chain stretches, a tensioner starts to fail, or timing gets out of position, you can end up with rattling on startup, poor running, check engine lights, or in some engines, serious internal damage.

This isn’t a repair you want to guess on. Timing marks, tension, and component condition all have to be checked carefully before everything goes back together.

This is the vehicle’s engine control module, or ECM. It takes information from sensors all over the vehicle and uses it to control things like fuel delivery, ignition timing, throttle operation, and emissions systems.

When a module starts to fail, the symptoms can be all over the place — intermittent no-starts, communication faults, warning lights, poor running, or systems that stop responding correctly. That’s why proper testing matters before condemning a module. These aren’t parts you want to replace just because a code points in that direction.
