Well, I have to get ahead of it when I can

It has just come to our attention that some of our customers have experienced finding paw prints in their vehicles. Well, I am not to blame. I had nothing to do with it. But my cat did. Our fearless shop Cat that keeps the mice and rats at bay l,sometimes happens to inspect someone’s vehicle and then doing so has not yet learned to cover his tracks. As I work with him on this area of sleuthiness, we will always try to make sure to clean up any footprints that might appear. But as a whole, it should be a few far between.

Today is an exciting day! Two more seasoned mechanics have joined the ranks at Whistler's!
Between the two of them, they bring years and years of expertise and humility that keeps them striving for knowledge as we face the ever changing vehicles, and complain about engineeers that don't get all the bugs worked out.

The last 30 days has been their vetting period to which being on time was make it or break it. Where comebacks could tank'em and no show's were considered immediate dismissal.

Bring us your broken cars and we will fix them!!!!

Together they have brought a level of trust and humility that must be acknowledged! Here's to Anthony and Mckeever. Cheers!!!

So all that to say this...

Bring us your broken cars and we will fix them!!!!

This week has been hot, and overheating has been a topic of discussion. With the end of the heat cycle coming and preparing for fall/winter, your cooling system is still an effective part and essential part of your daily commute.
Make sure to get your cooling system inspected regularly. This includes making sure
1. The cooling system is working correctly
2. Your heater is working correctly
3. Your coolant has not broken down and degraded to the point of not being able to protect the engine.

Did you know that we were able to test the freeze point of your coolant? Just ask.

Also, when you run your defroster, it actually uses the dehumidifying portion of your air conditioner to remove excess moisture. Fall is a great time to take care of that annoying freon leak that your walmart bottles have not fixed!

I’ll shout this from the rooftop: Be careful who you do business with!

A “mobile mechanic” recently came into our shop and verbally accosted/threatened our front-office ladies, calling us pathetic, no-good, bleepity-bleep mechanics—all because we didn’t “oscilloscope the alternator.”

Here’s the part he left out:

He had already replaced the customer’s alternator with a cheap, off-brand unit. Although it charged the battery, this vehicle required the correct Denso-spec alternator to communicate properly with the computer and keep the check-engine light off.

Once we explained that the wrong part had been installed, Mr. Mobile Mechanic became a little upset. Apparently, yelling at the ladies behind the counter was easier than admitting he installed the wrong alternator.

The moral of the story: Charging the battery doesn’t always mean the alternator is working correctly—and owning tools doesn’t automatically make someone a technician.
