A heavy shift k**b just feels better when you’re rowing gears.

That extra weight helps the shifter carry itself through the gate, so the shift feels smoother and takes a little less effort from your hand. If you’re running a short-throw shifter, that added mass can also help take some of the notchiness out of the feel.

You still get the mechanical connection. It just feels more deliberate.
