🚧🚨 It looks like the Highway 30 bridge (AKA the “south bridge”) will have some repairs done beginning May 1st. It sounds like it won’t be completely closed down, but instead will have flaggers, so expect delays. 🚧🚨
DIXON – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that work on three Mississippi River bridges in Rock Island, Whiteside and Carroll counties will begin Friday, May 1.
The project will wash the following bridges:
Centennial Bridge (U.S. 67) in Rock Island
Gateway Bridge (U.S. 30) in Fulton
Dale Gardner Veterans Memorial Bridge (U.S. 52/Illinois 64) in Savanna
There will be daytime and nighttime lane closures controlled by flaggers. All work is expected to be completed by the end of July.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zone areas, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment
Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve 7,107 lane miles of highway and 8.4 million square feet of bridge deck as part of Rebuild Illinois, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transportation.
