Below are Nick Neblung’s words, on his post to share the Bobby's Crash Foundation picture thanking us for supporting his son Brennen’s foundation. Thank you, Nick, for your kind words:

“Dan and so many other tow operators see these incidents up close in a way most people never will. They see the vehicles, the damage, the personal belongings left behind, and sometimes the very real evidence of a moment that forever changed a family.

What we don’t talk about enough is the impact that can have on them as well. Nearly 30 years of responding to crashes means Dan has seen things that don’t simply disappear when the tow truck leaves the scene. Many of those memories are carried quietly, and many are stories tow operators will probably never tell.

For Dan, and for so many others in the towing profession, thank you. Thank you for showing up on some of people’s worst days and doing a job that can be physically exhausting, emotionally draining, and at times absolutely demoralizing.

Midwest Collision supported our family with kind words during some of our darkest days, when Brennen was still in the ICU and none of us knew what the future looked like. To now have Dan and Midwest Collision standing beside Bobby’s Crash Foundation as a Community Safety Partner means more than I can put into words.

Thank you, Dan, and thank you to every tow operator who carries a little piece of every crash scene home with them”.

Today, we want to recognize one of our Community Safety Partners, Midwest Collision, Fulton IL.

Support from local businesses like Midwest Collision allows Bobby’s Crash Foundation to continue our mission, reach more young drivers, and bring real-world conversations about choices, consequences, and roadway safety directly to students in our communities.

Midwest Collision owner Dan Bennett knows all too well how devastating serious crashes can be. Dan has been towing vehicles for nearly 30 years and, like so many tow operators, has seen firsthand what is left behind after a serious crash. Tow operators are often among those who see the aftermath up close and understand just how quickly one moment on the road can change the lives of individuals, families, and entire communities.

Dan and Midwest Collision have supported us from the very beginning. From kind words and encouragement during those first difficult days while Brennen was in the ICU, to now supporting Bobby’s Crash Foundation and the mission that grew from that experience, their support has meant more than we can put into words.

It is crazy these pictures are from 13 years ago. Fun times! The Paulline boys as well as the Kuehl girls in these pictures have grown a lot! 😊 We miss towing for the derby with other towing companies in the area. It was a great friendship and comrade amongst all of us tow truck owners, some of whom have since passed and are truly missed. 😇🙏🏼 Have a fun week at the Whiteside County Fair!🍿🎡🎠🚙🐖🐎🍭🥇🎪🌭🍔

Is your insurance company trying to tell you what body shop to have your repairs done at? When insurance companies form an agreement with shops to become a DRP (direct repair program shop) they “promise” to bring that shop more jobs, and in exchange, they force the shop to use cheaper parts, materials, and not pay the shop as much for things like towing, storage and hourly repair rates.

In all honesty, years ago we were briefly a DRP for a couple insurance companies. We quickly learned first hand what corners those companies wanted us to cut on repairs. We don’t believe that less quality repairs should be made to appease an insurance company and have them “steer” more customers to our shop. You deserve to have your car fixed right!

Here’s the thing. YOU make your car payments, not your insurance company. YOU pay your insurance premiums. Your insurance company cannot force you to go to one of their preferred shops. YOU get to make that choice, not them.

Thank you not our wonderful customers who see through the pressure, and tell their insurance company, “No. I want my car repaired at Midwest Collision”. You are appreciated.

Today is the 26th Anniversary of being at our 1001 31st Avenue location! What an adventure it has been. Almost 29 years in business and 26 years at this location. We can’t thank our amazing customers and dedicated, hard working employees enough for riding this crazy ride with us. We love you all. 🚙🚨🚗

This is what it’s all about, being a business owner in small town America. People helping people. Our volunteer fire department recently needed to complete some training and asked for our assistance. These pictures were taken as they were wrapping up. It is always a pleasure working with our local fire, police and sheriff departments, whether it is helping them with training or working hand-in-hand at an accident scene or emergency. 🚨🚒🚔🚑🔥

We are closed today in observance of Memorial Day. It is not just a 3-day weekend. Men and women gave the ultimate sacrifice, by giving their life, for our country, for us, and for our freedoms. Never take any of it for granted. Have a blessed Memorial Day. See you tomorrow. 🇺🇸
