A glimpse behind the scenes...

We used to have different roles and responsibilities with the podcast, but that's shifting. With Tasha stepping back, I've been weighing what that means going forward.

A day late and missing a few elements, I finally edited and produced this episode on my own.

It's not perfect, and I had to keep reminding myself: done is better than perfect.

If your RV AC looks like this then it is working harder to cool than it should. This RV AC had not been cleaned in 2 years and the squirrel cage that pushes the cooler air inside was not pushing only swatting at the air. This lowers airflow inside of the ducts. In addition the dirt and mold sitting on that squirrel cage causes a musty wet smell when the AC comes on. Having the AC cleaned every year or at least every six months allows the AC to get a checkup and bath. You will stay cooler as the unit can breath properly. Also do not install thicker house hold filters. These restrict inbound airflow from the RV making the unit work harder than it should. If you haven't had your RV AC checkup give us a call.

This weekend is not about a 4 day weekend or hotdogs, burgers and beer. Its not about those that stand on wall and watch and ensure our freedoms everyday all over the world. It is a day of remembrance and those that gave the ultimate sacrifice and served but are no longer with us. For the soldier that fought the Battle of the Bulge in Germany during WWI, the Navy sailors went down on the USS Arizona in the port in Hawaii. The Marines who fought at Iwo Jima or the shores of Tripoli. The Airman pilot who was shot down over Iraq in the Gulf War. Coast Guard members patrolling our shores preventing interception and rescuing others. All these men and woman, Sisters and Brothers, Mother and Fathers who said I want to give myself 100 % to protecting that which I hold most important to me. My country, my family and my way of life in the greatest country in the world. The United States of America. They all signed a check understanding it might be cashed in as their very last breath. Some have made it home and retired but the service never ended. They jusymt hung up the uniform but the debt still stood firm. The memories, the stresses, the sights and sounds never left them but they served. To all those that have had a family member in the service of this country this weekend is not just a weekend. It is everyday of the year. Others only remember this weekend. SA Mobile RV Repair and Inspections LLC remembers all year long. So Memorial day weekend is not just this weekend its every weekend and every day. Thank you to the families that gave as there family members serviced, thank you for their life they gave for what we all have each day. The freedoms we enjoy everyday. I am honored to have members in my family who served. My father Col James Shutt Sr, my Grand father Robert Smith (WWII), my Grand Father Harry Shutt( WWII), Grand Father Estin Scott (WWII). From my wives side a Military vet herself id Ronald Brault (US Army) and Rick Rickard (US Air Force). But I also remember those that served dometicly the Fire fighters, Police like Roger Smith with the Howard County Sheriff's Office. All these family members are no longer with us but their memories are. That is what the weekend is about. The memory of how they shaped the world I live in now. So remember those that are not with us this weekend not just this weekend but everyday. Blessings for all families and GOD bless America!

To finish out the building on this 2025 Forest River RPod we added a VE Smart dongle to the inverter to allow the customer to see and monitor the inverter via their phone and Victron Connect app. In addition they wanted more charging capabilities so with 400 watts on the roof we added an additional 400 watts for a total of 800 watts in series/parallel to chagr the 600 AH of lithium batteries. As well as upgraded the Victron 100/30 amp charge controller to a 100/50 amp charge controller. This will carry the proper amperage coming in to the system and allow for some over paneling. This rig is now ready for some serious boondocking.

We revisited this 2026 Forest River RPod with additional upgrades this week. In December of 2025 we upgraded the lead acid batteries from 2 x 105 AH to 2 x 300 ah lithium by Epoch. We added a 2 x 30 lb propane system tobreplace the single 20 lb system. In addition we upgraded the Go Power Pwm Charge controller to a Victron 100/30 MPPT charge controller. We have the power but what can we do with it. So let's use that battery bank to boondock. So enter the Victron Multiplus 2 3000 watt inverter/charger. We made the whole trailer go live on battery to include the AC for short term usage. We added a Victron smart shunt to monitor the battery usage and a Multi Controller to control the inverter charger via external control. The inverter charge fit perfectly under the microwave in the dead space. What's next you ask.... how about adding more solar to the roof. And a Bluetooth dongle for the inverter so they can monitor everything via the Victron Connect app. Stay tuned for more updates.....
