Between vacation and car shows July seemed a little slow in the shop. Even so the GTO metalwork is done and we’ve moved to bodywork. The new wheels got tires, so we had to try them on too. The old convertible has come a long way. Also started on a C10 that’s in for some bed work and minor tailgate repair. Owner got free wasps removal from inside the tailgate while it was opened up. On the upholstery side I finished the boat seats and completed my 1st convertible top replacement. Now I’m working to design a seat for an insane motorcycle. And because it’s on one my favorite cars, here’s a shot of the seats and door cards I did over the winter installed by the owner. It’s awesome to see our work in the wild!

Happy 4th of July (almost)! At Ravenwood we finished up the 68 Camaro. The outside looks as good as the inside! We also buttoned up rust repair on GTO and started to make it look like a car again. It’s back on the chassis with new trunk floor, wheel tubs, quarter panels, and tail pan. Then we hung and fit the rest of the sheet metal to get ready for bodywork. At my shop, I tackled a 69 Mercedes - some small interior fixes and a new radio w/speakers. Such a nice ride! I also refinished some more boat seats before pulling an 88 BMW in for a new top and some seat repairs.

Man, May felt like a blur! I tackled a couple headliner installs, recovered a few boat seats, and redid some work on a 32 Roadster. I also spent time with Ravenwood working on the 68 GTO. The chassis was stripped and reassembled with all the goodies. The body is getting a full treatment of bondo and school bus yellow removal while working through all the metalwork. Hopefully we can start making it look like a car again soon!

Monthly update: wrapped up a set of custom seats for an old pickup. Some 2000s truck seats with a few mods, custom colors, and a retro design made cool hot rod seats. Then I jumped into an interior restoration for a 1998 Dodge. Everything but the carpet got attention on this one, even added some cab lights! Also been helping Ravenwood get the metal right on a 70 Challenger - new floors, quarters, fenders, and lots of rust repair. It left and we moved onto cutting up a 68 GTO convertible for more of the same!

Not many pictures for this month’s update, but it’s been a lot of hours on the gritty side of things. Sanding and paint prep, tearing down and slicing up metal for new panels, and of course some upholstery. Snuck in truck seat cover replacement between tearing down, patterning, and stitching up a set of custom seats. Loving the color combo, but I’ll keep that a secret until the set is done.

Wrapped up a lot of upholstery projects this month - finished the Camaro seats (front and back). Buttoned up the Biscayne project with some fresh door cards. I snuck in a simple cover for a side by side. At the southern shop, the 57 interior is all done and real close to going home. The Camaro is almost ready for color and has a stack of parts ready for reassembly. It should be a fun spring!

Making head way on the stack of seats from last month. A lot of time on the 57 Bel Air and 64 Biscayne interior pieces. Finished the rear seat for a GTO and prepped frames for a Camaro, too. I also recovered a truck seat after replacing the seat heater and installed custom visors. Been busy on mechanicals for 57 and metal work/tear down on the Camaro at Ravenwood. The office view there never gets old!
