After completing the Cataldo Bridge Project and reflecting on the experience, I am pleased to report that our team successfully executed the project with minimal setbacks. I would like to extend my gratitude to Gem State Mobile Blasting and Sandhollow mobile media blasting for their collaboration with Sand & Air Sandblasting and Coating in bringing this project to fruition. Special thanks to Rye Nil for rising to the challenge despite being part of the team for only a few months, and to Joe Parks for his invaluable assistance throughout the project. Key project statistics include 93,000 pounds of media used, 189 blast hours, 107 hours on a 1600 cfm compressor over 16 days, and approximately 1200 gallons of diesel consumed across all equipment. The site setup took five days, while travel and cleanup required four days to thoroughly vacuum, shovel, and sweep up spent media. It was an honor to be part of this project, which will see the bridge disassembled over the next few months, transported to the Treasure Valley, and reassembled in Star within the next couple of years.
