Kicking off a fresh week around the shop with some more 6L80E action.

The 6L80E is known for its weaknesses, which is why we take the time to address them during the rebuild. Our 6L80E builds are packed with quality Sonnax components and paired with one of our own billet torque converters for a complete, performance-focused package.

Every unit also comes with a brand-new TEHCM and is professionally programmed before it leaves our shop, making it ready to drop back into the vehicle and go.

We’re closing out the week with another TH400 that recently went through our shop, including a freshened-up unit with a brand-new pump assembly featuring internal dump capabilities.

Before it leaves our shop, we put it on our dyno to verify that everything is functioning properly and that the transmission is ready to perform for our customer.

Investing in the right equipment is an important part of maintaining the quality standards we expect from every transmission that leaves Turner Racing Transmissions. Our dyno gives us the ability to test our builds before they reach the customer, allowing us to identify and address potential issues before the transmission ever gets installed.

Do you need some metal with your 6L80E?

Because this customer sure did!

When a torque converter starts coming apart, all that material has to go somewhere. Unfortunately, a lot of it ends up circulating through the transmission and collecting right here on the magnet.

This is a good reminder that when your 6L80E converter starts showing signs of failure, don’t just replace the converter and send it down the road. The transmission needs to be properly inspected and cleaned up to prevent the debris from causing even more damage.

A little glitter is okay at the jewelry store.

High Performance Wednesday is in full effect here at Turner Racing Transmissions!

We have been wrapping up several performance transmission builds throughout the week, including this Powerglide and TH400, both built into aftermarket SFI-approved cases and ready to handle some serious power.

These are the types of builds that represent what we do at TRT. From the internal components and specifications to the case and overall combination, every transmission is built with the customer’s specific application and performance goals in mind.

A special request came through the shop this week for an 8L45 torque converter, and this one had a little more meaning behind it!

A father reached out to us looking for a replacement converter for his daughter’s Camaro. It is her first car, and the two of them are planning to work on modifying it together and building something they can enjoy as a family.

He had just one special request: paint the converter purple, because it is her favorite color.

Call it done.

As we kick off a new week at Turner Racing Transmissions, we are excited to share an important milestone for our transmission program: the completion of our first 8L90E rebuild in the shop!

We are proud to announce that the 8L90E is now officially being added to our growing transmission product line. This unit was built and paired with one of our 245mm billet triple-disc torque converters, providing a complete performance package designed around the customer’s specific application.

For customers looking for an OE replacement setup, we also offer brand-new billet OE replacement torque converters. Our 8L90E rebuild packages can be customized to meet the individual needs of each application, whether you are looking for a reliable OE-style replacement or a higher-performance combination.
