Today, we welcomed U.S. Sen. Jon Husted to Stark State's CDL Training Center in Akron, where he met with instructors and students and toured the facility, including the future site of our new Instruction Center. Sen. Husted was instrumental in securing $875,000 in federal funding for the new facility, which will provide classrooms, faculty offices, a computer lab and a breakroom for students pursuing their commercial driver’s licenses.

Don’t let the roadside find it first.

Brake Safety Week is here - August 23–29, 2026. This year, inspectors will place added focus on the condition of commercial vehicle brake drums and rotors.

Before your truck rolls out, include visible brake components in your pre- and post-trip inspections. Watch for cracks, damage, unusual wear, and signs of metal-to-metal contact. If something doesn’t look right, have a qualified technician evaluate it.

A proactive inspection helps protect your drivers, equipment, and everyone sharing the road.
