I find this almost impossible to put into words. My dad is gone. My hero is gone. After a short 3 month battle with bone and blood cancer, he has risen to his eternal home. A great and wonderful man, husband, father, brother and son. He was a diehard KU fan, and an even more diehard drag racer, who loved seeing friends at the track as much as driving his race cars. I’m so glad I was able to spend my entire life with him, working on cars and watching him race, which was his passion. He helped make it my passion, as well. I learned everything I know from him and am eternally grateful for that. He was passionate, humble, loyal, and full of integrity. Everything a son strives for and more. He is missed and loved by so many. He fought to the very end, and I am so glad God took him peacefully. Thank you dad for helping me become who I am today. I’ll see you soon.
Viewing this Friday the 29th from 6-8pm at Buhler Mennonite Church.
Celebration of Life Saturday the 30th at 10am, also at Buhler Mennonite Church.
For those wishing to attend Saturday, don’t dress up. Dad wanted blue jeans and racing gear, or KU attire.
