The moment we've been waiting for! The 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 engine gets its first start on the engine stand.

The checklist is complete: fuel, coolant, oil, spark and ignition advance have all been checked. With everything ready, we flipped the switch and... it's alive!

Even better, the air/fuel mixture was surprisingly close on the very first attempt. It still needs proper tuning and plenty of adjustment, but hearing this Jaguar XK engine fire for the first time is a huge milestone.

This engine is destined for a 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe (FHC), so this is just the beginning. Before long, this freshly awakened XK engine will be back where it belongs, powering one of Jaguar's most iconic sports cars.

Watch the first start and hear the engine come back to life!
