Join us on May 19th! The Tuscarawas County Health Department invites the entire community to an Open House on Tuesday, May 19th, from 4 PM to 6 PM.
Join in celebrating community health, connection, and the services that help keep Tuscarawas County strong. Ribbon Cutting with the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce at 4 pm, recognition of local artists, light refreshments, building tours, & free tick removal kit while supplies last!

🐾🏁 The Fast & Furriest Event is BACK! 🏁🐾

The 2nd Annual Coshocton County Fair Wiener Dog Races are set for Monday, October 5, 2026 immediately following the pari-mutual races!

Think your dachshund has what it takes? 👀
💰 Cash prizes:
• 1st Place: $400
• 2nd Place: $300
• 3rd Place: $150

📅 Entries Due: August 7, 2026
⚠️ Limited to 45 racers once full, a waitlist will be started!

🐶 Registration Details:

• Must be a purebred dachshund
• No age or weight restrictions
• Must be up to date on shots & license
• Each racer needs 2 handlers

📍 Race Info:

• Held at the Coshocton County Fair Grandstand
• Each pup will race 20 yards down the track
• This is a fun, family-friendly event but competition will be fierce!

Spring is here and so are the mosquitoes! Our Environmental Health Mosquito Control staff are gearing up early this year in response to rainy and warm weather that caused early mosquito activity. You will find us throughout Tuscarawas County using our most effective form of EPA-approved mosquito control by treating standing water.
While we are doing our part, you can also take action by emptying standing water from containers, gutters, and birdbaths; applying insect repellent with DEET; covering up with protective clothing; and avoiding outdoor activities at dawn and dusk. Together, we can make sure mosquitoes don't ruin outdoor fun this season. 🙂
