🚨 Attention Carbureted Vehicle Owners! 🚨

Shawn and I are on a bit of an investigative journey.

We currently know of four carbureted vehicles experiencing similar drivability issues—hard starts, stumbling, loss of power, running smooth when cool but struggling when the temp gets high, and symptoms that seem very similar to v***r lock.

If you own a carbureted vehicle and have been having similar issues, we'd love to hear from you. Please send us a message with the following information:

⛽ Where are you buying your fuel?
⛽ What grade/type of fuel are you running?
⛽ What kind of fuel mileage are you averaging?

We're going to be collecting and comparing fuel samples from different stations to see if we can identify any patterns or potential fuel-related issues.

The more information we can gather, the better. Feel free to share this post with other classic car, hot rod, muscle car, and carbureted truck owners.

Let's see if we can get to the bottom of this together!

Life is pretty good when you can start your day with a little sunshine, a gentle breeze, and a front-row seat to everything going on around the shop. ❤️

🚗 Shuttle Service Update! 🚗

We've had a few people ask if we still offer shuttle service since our big move, and the answer is absolutely YES!

We know getting your vehicle serviced can be challenging when you have work, errands, or a busy schedule. That's why we're still happy to help with local drop-offs and pickups when your vehicle is in our care.

If you need a ride after dropping off your vehicle or need help getting back to the shop when it's ready, just let us know when you schedule your appointment, and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Our new location may be different, but our commitment to taking care of our customers hasn't changed one bit!

🌞 Good morning and Happy Friday Eve! We have some excellent news to share!

As many of you know, we've recently moved into our new shop. One of the things we love most about it is the awesome skylights that bring in plenty of natural light while Shawn works.

Unfortunately, that natural light comes with a downside. Yesterday at 4:00 PM, it was a scorching 116° inside the shop area—even with the porta cooler running! That's why we've been closing daily from 2:00–6:00 PM.

BUT... thanks to an amazing friend of ours (Steve Davis), we've found a way to cover the skylights and dramatically reduce the heat!

That means we're back to normal business hours! 🎉

🚗 Bad Habit will now be open from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and you're welcome to stop by or give us a call (806-676-6440) anytime during those hours. If you need to drop off or pick up a vehicle after 4pm, just give us advance notice, and we'll be more than happy to stay late or meet you back at the shop.

Thank you all for your patience and support as we've settled into our new home. We truly appreciate each and every one of you, and we can't wait to see you!

Do you remember that car? The one you couldn't wait to ride in as a kid? The one with the cracked bench seat, the smell of gasoline and old vinyl, and the sound of the engine that let you know your Dad, Mom, Grandma, or Grandpa was pulling into the driveway?

Remember riding with the windows down on a warm summer evening, your arm hanging out the window, not a care in the world. Maybe it was an old pickup, or a classic car cruising through downtown to get an ice cream, or maybe it was riding on the back of a Harley with your Dad. At the time, it was just a ride.

Now you realize it was a memory.

That's why we do what we do.

Every restoration isn't just about paint, chrome, or horsepower. It's about bringing back a piece of someone's story. It's about preserving the vehicles that carried us through some of life's best moments and making sure those memories can be passed down to the next generation.

Hello and happy Monday to everyone! After careful consideration, Shawn and I have decided to revert to our temporary summer hours. We will continue to arrive at 6 a.m., close the shop at 2 p.m., then reopen at 6 p.m. and remain open until 9 p.m. The afternoon heat has made it too uncomfortable to work during those hours.
We are still available by phone at 806-676-6440 and via messenger from 2-6.

We expect today to be the last day for electricians, inspectors, and other contractors. We are almost fully operational, but we are still open and serving our customers during this transition.
June is starting to fill up quickly, so if you need repairs or a consultation, be sure to schedule soon. Thanks for your patience and support!
