So Travis busted butt getting into the main, it wasn’t over, last row on the starting grid is a long way to the front. That group in the first row are no joke and it’s a tremendous task on a stellar night to maintain pace with them. Drane, Saathoff and Brunner ended up on the box with some great battles all throughout the pack. Travis made moves and ended up 11th. Struggled after halfway point with traction, dang Daytona texture is always changing. Considering everything Travis ended up P12.

Update on last night, Travis was running 4th in heat with a secured transfer spot and slipped off the groove enough to slide out, go down and finish last! 😩 LCQ time for the determined Californian but a fifth row start is nearly impossible to make it happen in that tough crowd! But he put his head down and did it! Probably one of the most amazing demonstrations of race craft seen in awhile. Third place and we are in the main event! 😁

Travis Petton qualified 6th overall, starting front row in the 2nd heat with a stacked bunch of racers. He needs to get that top 6th spot or better to make the show! Our Canadian rider Gabriel Boisvert had the Daytona Short Track rookie gremlins hit and wasn’t able to get into tonight’s program, but will regroup and bring it back for tomorrow’s second night.
