We are sad to learn this morning that Wendell Berry has passed away at age 92.

It is hard to find just one quote from this great thinker and writer that captures the wisdom he shared about our relationship with the land. Berry’s writing reminds us that conservation is about more than protecting acres of land. It is about cultivating a sense of place and understanding that we are part of something much larger than ourselves.

We are grateful for the many words Wendell Berry left behind, and for the all the ways they will continue to inspire us to care for the land and each other.

The Echo Lite and Echo 2.0 from Esquif are an extremely sought after couple of models since they can do almost anything a nice paddling solo canoe can do. Each can be paddled with a double or single blade. If you are planning a trip to the ADK with a 500 lb capacity, Echo 2.0 you can take everything, and the kitchen sink! Echo Lite is rugged but nearly as light as Kevlar models costing 4x more.
