MCF Maintenance Bulletin:
One of the things that many car owners forget about is the servicing of their car's air conditioning system.
- Is your AC ok at night but not so during the day?
- Your AC doesnt stay cold under the noon time sun and in traffic?
- Does your AC smells like someone left his soiled socks in your car?
The AC system also needs regular maintenance. Clean AC oil (clear) is needed to bring the AC gas efficiently around the AC system. If dirty, the AC compressor gets strained and will be under increased wear.
The AC cooling coil that is lodged within the dashboard works hard to keep the system cold. When dirt and fungus collects all over it, corrosion leads to oil and gas leaks, and the fungus build-up leads to the funky smells.
And did you know that using a liquid based air freshener will actually worsen the smells?
Without doubt, the AC maintenance is not to be ignored otherwise the cost to replace all of these components will be no laughing matter.
