Common Signs of Road Rage
Road rage manifests through both verbal confrontations and dangerous driving:

Aggressive Driving Behaviors: Tailgating, brake-checking, cutting other cars off, changing lanes erratically, and forcing other drivers off the road.
Intimidation and Harassment: Excessive horn use, flashing headlights, and aggressively blocking another vehicle from passing.
Verbal/Physical Altercations: Shouting, using rude or obscene hand gestures, making physical threats, or escalating to physical violence and property damage.

⚠️ Aggressive Driving vs. Road Rage
While often used interchangeably, they are legally and behaviorally distinct:

Progressive
Aggressive Driving focuses on the manner of driving itself (e.g., speeding, weaving in and out of traffic). It endangers people or property but isn't necessarily targeted at a specific person out of direct, personal anger.
Road Rage is a targeted, emotional outburst. The specific goal is to intimidate, threaten, or retaliate against another specific road user.

🛑 What to Do If You Encounter It
Understanding how to react can keep you safe if another driver targets you:
Remain Calm: Avoid making eye contact, do not engage, and do not return angry gestures.
Give Them Space: Safely change lanes or slow down to let the aggressive driver pass you.
Do Not Pull Over: Never stop your car to confront the driver or engage in an argument.
Call for Help: If the driver continues to harass you or follows you, drive to the nearest police station or a well-lit, public place and contact emergency authorities.
