Even if you're outside that window, a brand-new OEM replacement for a Corolla or Prius now typically lands between $3,500 and $5,000 installed—a far cry from the "totaled car" prices of a decade ago. With refurbished packs dropping costs even further to around $1,500, keeping a high-mileage hybrid on the road has never been more affordable or sustainable.
