It's Safer Boating Week!
A timely reminder that a great day on the water starts with being prepared.
Remember, on moving craft 6m or less in length, everyone must now wear a lifejacket.
Check yours before you go out:
βοΈA lifejacket needs to be the right type for the activity and person using it.
βοΈCheck that each lifejacket fits correctly, including lifejackets for children and other passengers.
βοΈCheck for damage, expiry information and servicing requirements, particularly for inflatable lifejackets.
βοΈReplace or service any lifejacket that is damaged, no longer fits or is not suitable for the activity.
Always check the weather and water conditions, make sure someone knows your plans and that you have two ways to call for help.
Conditions can change quickly on the water, so preparation matters.
Safer Boating Week is a great time to check your equipment, update your safety plans, refresh yourself with the new legislation and make sure you're all set for a fantastic season on the water!
Stay safe out there!
