**Besuch aus einer anderen Galaxie? 👽🚗**

Nach ihrem Ausflug nach **Matala** machten unsere Teilnehmer auf der Rückfahrt noch einen Zwischenstopp beim historischen **Kloster Odigitria**.

Der neue rote **Fiat Grande Panda** sorgte während ihres Urlaubs immer wieder für neugierige Blicke. Manche Menschen schlichen sogar langsam um das Auto herum – fast so, als wäre es gerade von einem anderen Stern auf Kreta gelandet. 😄🛸

Vor dem traditionellen Klostertor wirkt sein futuristisches Design tatsächlich wie ein kleiner Blick in die Zukunft. Vergangenheit und Zukunft vereint in einem echten Kreta-Moment! ☀️💙

**A visitor from another galaxy? 👽🚗**

After visiting **Matala**, our participants stopped at the historic **Odigitria Monastery** on their way back.

Their new red **Fiat Grande Panda** attracted plenty of curious looks throughout the holiday. Some people even slowly walked around it – almost as if it had just landed in Crete from another planet. 😄🛸

In front of the traditional monastery entrance, its futuristic design really does look like a glimpse into the future. Past and future together in one special Crete moment! ☀️💙

Direkt neben dem wunderschönen **Saradari Beach** versteckt sich die kleine **Gorgona Taverna**. Von der Straße aus läuft man schnell einmal daran vorbei – dabei wartet hier ein richtig gemütliches Plätzchen mit gutem Essen und traumhaftem Blick auf das türkisblaue Meer. ☀️💙

Manchmal sind es gerade die unscheinbaren Orte, die zu den schönsten Urlaubserinnerungen werden. Einfach gemütlich, authentisch und perfekt! 😊

**A little hidden gem with an amazing view 🌊🐟**

Right next to the beautiful **Saradari Beach**, you will find the small **Gorgona Taverna**. It is easy to walk straight past it from the road – but inside, a cosy atmosphere, delicious food and a wonderful view of the turquoise sea are waiting. ☀️💙

**Erst Schlucht, dann Südküste 🥾⛰️🚗**

Nach einer beeindruckenden Wanderung durch die **Imbros-Schlucht** wurden die Wanderschuhe gegen den Autositz getauscht und die Tour mit unserem Dacia Duster in Richtung **Frangokastello** fortgesetzt. ✌️

Zwischen der griechischen Flagge, den kretischen Bergen und der historischen Umgebung entstand dieser schöne Urlaubsschnappschuss. Ein Tag voller Natur, Bewegung und Entdeckungen! 🇬🇷☀️

**First the gorge, then the south coast 🥾⛰️🚗**

After an impressive hike through the **Imbros Gorge**, the hiking boots were exchanged for a comfortable seat in our Dacia Duster, and the journey continued towards **Frangokastello**. ✌️

With the Greek flag, the Cretan mountains and the historic surroundings, this lovely holiday photo was captured. A day filled with nature, activity and discovery! 🇬🇷☀️

⚠️ WICHTIGE VERKEHRSINFO – BOAK GESPERRT 🚗🇬🇷

Wer in den nächsten Tagen Richtung Agios Nikolaos, Elounda oder Ostkreta unterwegs ist, sollte etwas mehr Zeit einplanen.

📅 7.–12. September 2026
⏰ täglich von 09:00 bis 17:00 Uhr

Der BOAK ist im Bereich Xiropotamos zwischen Neapoli und Agios Nikolaos für Pkw und Busse gesperrt. Grund sind notwendige Arbeiten zur Entfernung instabiler Felsmassen.

➡️ Der Verkehr wird über die alte Nationalstraße und lokale Straßen umgeleitet.

⏱️ Rechnet bitte mit Verzögerungen – besonders zu den Hauptverkehrszeiten. Wenn ihr aus Agios Nikolaos, Elounda oder Ostkreta zum Flughafen Heraklion unterwegs seid, plant lieber etwas zusätzliche Zeit ein.

🚗 Fahrt vorsichtig und genießt Kreta – auch wenn der Weg diesmal ein bisschen länger dauert. 😉

If you're travelling towards Agios Nikolaos, Elounda or Eastern Crete over the next few days, please allow some extra time.

⏰ daily from 09:00 to 17:00

The BOAK highway in the Xiropotamos area between Neapoli and Agios Nikolaos will be closed to cars and buses due to essential works to remove unstable rocks.

➡️ Traffic will be diverted via the old national road and local roads.

⏱️ Expect delays, especially during busy periods. If you're travelling from Agios Nikolaos, Elounda or Eastern Crete to Heraklion Airport, we recommend leaving a little earlier than usual.

🚗 Drive safely and enjoy Crete – even if today's scenic route wasn't exactly planned. 😉

Wenn der Mietwagen für den Abend sicher abgestellt ist, gibt es kaum etwas Schöneres: am **Triopetra Beach** liegen, ein kühles Mythos genießen und dabei zusehen, wie die Sonne langsam im Libyschen Meer versinkt. ☀️🌊

Für unsere Teilnehmer ist Triopetra einer der schönsten Flecken Kretas – und bei diesem Anblick können wir das sehr gut verstehen. 💙

**Ending the day, Cretan style 🍺🌅**

Once the rental car is safely parked for the evening, there is hardly anything better: relaxing at **Triopetra Beach**, enjoying a cold Mythos and watching the sun slowly disappear into the Libyan Sea. ☀️🌊

For our participants, Triopetra is one of the most beautiful places in Crete – and looking at this view, we can certainly understand why. 💙

**Eine Stunde Natur pur ⛰️🚗**

Dieses Foto entstand auf der Lieblingsstrecke unserer Teilnehmer – der landschaftlich wunderschönen Abkürzung von **Elafonissi nach Paleochora**.

Einsame Berglandschaft, eine kleine weiße Kapelle, strahlend blauer Himmel und mittendrin unser neuer **Fiat Grande Panda**. Eine ganze Stunde lang Kreta abseits des Trubels genießen – mehr Natur pur geht kaum. ☀️💙

Für diese Strecke hatten unsere Teilnehmer natürlich die **Schotterstraßenversicherung** gebucht. Sie ermöglicht mit den dafür vorgesehenen Fahrzeugen auch Fahrten auf befahrbaren Schotterstraßen – echtes Offroad-Fahren ist jedoch nicht erlaubt. 😉🚗

**One hour of pure nature ⛰️🚗**

This photo was taken along our participants’ favourite route – the scenic shortcut from **Elafonissi to Paleochora**.

A remote mountain landscape, a small white chapel, a brilliant blue sky and our new **Fiat Grande Panda** right in the middle of it all. One full hour enjoying the quieter side of Crete – pure nature at its best. ☀️💙

Our participants had, of course, booked our **Gravel Road Insurance** for this route. With eligible vehicles, it allows driving on suitable gravel roads – genuine off-road driving is not permitted. 😉🚗

⚠️ VERKEHRSWARNUNG – VOAK / KOKKINI HANI 🚗🚗🚗

🇩🇪 Aktuell kommt es auf der VOAK bei Kokkini Hani zu massiven Verkehrsproblemen.

In Richtung Agios Nikolaos haben sich kilometerlange Staus gebildet. Autofahrer berichten teilweise von bis zu 40 Minuten zusätzlicher Wartezeit. Ursache der aktuellen Probleme ist laut Medienberichten unter anderem ein liegengebliebenes großes Fahrzeug.

👉 Besonders wichtig für unsere Kunden:
Plant heute bitte deutlich mehr Zeit ein – vor allem, wenn ihr zum Flughafen Heraklion ✈️ unterwegs seid oder euren Mietwagen zu einer bestimmten Uhrzeit zurückgeben müsst.

Bitte fahrt vorsichtig und habt etwas Geduld. 😊

🇬🇧 TRAFFIC WARNING – VOAK / KOKKINI HANI 🚗🚗🚗

There are currently major traffic problems on the VOAK near Kokkini Hani, especially in the direction of Agios Nikolaos.

Long queues have formed and drivers are reporting delays of up to 40 minutes. According to local reports, part of today's disruption was caused by a large vehicle that broke down.

👉 If you're heading to Heraklion Airport ✈️ or returning your rental car today, please allow plenty of extra time.
