It was with great sadness that the Whitby Motocross Club learned of the death of one of its main committee members, Graham Pennock. He will be missed by all who knew him and our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and his many friends.
Graham was one of the founder members of the Whitby Club, being one of the old Glaisdale Track stalwarts before it closed due to a change of ownership of the land. He was a kingpin in the search to find and develop the new track at Skelder Bank and was always at the fore when any work needed to be done, spending many hours working there, particularly after his retirement.
On race day he was assistant Clerk of the Course for many years and multi-tasked as Safety Officer. When the change to electronic timing and result preparation came in, Graham threw himself wholeheartedly into the computer-based system and learned, then operated it at every event. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
