We are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old girl was followed and assaulted in West Byfleet last Thursday (7 September).

The assault occurred at around 10.20am as the victim was walking across the M25 bridge from West Byfleet towards Byfleet, when she was approached by a male suspect who engaged her in conversation. He then proceeded to follow her making comments before grabbing the back of her neck. The victim walked away from him down Queens Avenue, where he followed her, before driving off in a black van with gold writing on the side.

A 29-year-old man from Ealing has been arrested in connection to the incident. Additional patrols are also being conducted in the area.
