BMW 330D N57 2008

N57 Timing Chain Replacement ⛓️

Don’t see many of these having chain replacement, everything is normally F series variants. Nice to do the older E series.

This original 155,000 mile timing chain had done its job. With only some slight noise the customer was glad to get it done when the pictures were sent over. Excessive slack in the upper chain and normally wearing the teeth down on the Camshaft sprocket it’s nice to get things running back how it should be for this late 2008 3 series.

Squeaky Brakes 🫣

Vehicle was with us for inspection not so long ago. Complained of squeaky brakes with the old pads being particularly close to the pad sensors anyways it was due for Pad replacement.

As the pads were removed, squeak points internal of the pads were visible before the pad indicated was illuminated

Rear Suspension Refresh 🚗

With the vehicle, getting into the higher range mileage and occasionally the rear suspension saging, it was time to refresh the suspension with new components. Compressor was already replaced before becoming of ours but with leaking shocks and detoriated air springs it was good to give it some new lease of life with fresh parts.

Full Brake Replacement 🚗

After a recent vehicle inspection by us, and a recent mot incoming, brakes were in a bad shape, with the outside face in a okay condition, the inside told a different story, completely rusted, heavy score lines and just overall not fit for purpose and advisories on the mot certificate.

BMW 218D F46

Non Running 😭

Vehicle was originally taken to the dealership non running, as it was due a couple of outstanding recalls. Unfortunately they couldn’t carry out the recall due needing it running. They said the engine was toast. Metal everywhere customer decided to get it sent to us for a second opinion. No oil filter present in the filter housing but engine still full of oil, who does that 🤷🏽‍♂️

Faults read nothing unusual stored
Turned engine over by hand to make sure nothing was seized
Sample of Oil drained into a container with checking for internal engine debris. Which was completely fine.

Removed turbo intake pipe and intercooler pipework and found excessive amount of oil and the turbo having excessive play and scoring the turbo housing.

Vehicle inspection carried out with a number of items advised, customer just wanted all issues fixed ✅

• New Turbo & Fitting Kit
• Intercooler Drained and cleaned
• Major service
• Lower Engine Mount
• New Lower arms & Rear Bushes

Vehicle now running better and quieter than ever ✅
