Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well.
I would like to share with you a vehicle I worked on recently: Giving it a full service, good checkover & replacing some brake components.
This Audi A4 cabriolet owned by Peter Tucker & Sue Berry.
Peter & Sue are very kindly taking part in a Banger Rally challenge for Dementia UK called "Saint Tropez or Bust".
Dementia effects millions of people worldwide & Dementia UK is a charity close to Peter & Sue's hearts.
I've got to know Peter well over the last few months & he is a genuinely nice chap, spending a lot of his own time & money preparing the vehicle & doing the journey itself.
I'm sure you'll agree how great the car looks in its mid nineties, (BTCC) British touring car championship Audi decals, my particular favourite era 😁.
Up to 70 teams are taking part in this challenge & I hope you will all join me in wishing them the best of luck & reliability on their epic journey.
Please support them with a donation if you can, they will greatly appreciate any donations to their deserving charity.

I was asked recently if I could carry out some repair work to a camper van.
What I didn't realise when being asked is that the kind gentleman who owns the van, was taking it with a caravan to Poland full of lots of useful things like medical supplies and clothing to help people affected by the war in the Ukraine.
When the van arrived and I saw the sponsors on the side and taking into consideration what he was doing, it only seemed right to help out.
I serviced the gearbox, new oil, oil filter and sump pan gasket.
Replaced the rear brake pipes, made up from scratch with new unions and renewal of the brake fluid.
Then also replaced the battery as the old one was struggling to start the engine.
I didn't charge for any of the work as he's put a considerable amount of his own money and time into his kind effort.
You'll be glad to hear he's back safely after his mission, hopefully many people benefiting from the donations given to him.

Out of the Stable 🐎
--------------------------------
Seeing as I haven't posted anything for a while I thought I'd share this lovely Mustang I had to service this week.
It's the first time I have worked on one of these and was pleasantly surprised how accessible everything I had to change was.
Being only a few years old and very low mileage added to the ease of the work as nothing was corroded and was still very clean underneath.
Hopefully I get to see some more of this car in the future.
I hope you are all keeping well and getting back to some form of normality after a challenging time for many of us.
Stay safe and look after yourselves.

Back to business.
----------------------------

Due to demand and slight relaxation of the Covid safety rulings I have decided to fully reopen.
Obviously I will be taking all necessary precautions regarding hygiene by using antibacterial products and vehicle interior coverings as I have been.
I'm also in the process of purchasing a "Fogging machine" which fills the vehicle with a sanitising fog to give a superior hygienic interior. (I shall post a video with it in action when it arrives)
As normal I will be offering a collection and delivery service for vehicles if required with social distancing measures taken into account.
All my usual services will be up and running such as servicing, MOTs, MOT repairs, gearbox servicing and repair.
Air conditioning regassing and repairs are also available.
I offer a non contact payment option.
I'm available to discuss your needs on the phone, text, WhatsApp, email or Messenger.

I hope you are all looking after yourselves and keeping healthy.
See you soon. 🙂

NHS staff and Carers.
----------------------------------
Could any staff of the NHS or Carers etc make use of these disposable seat covers? It is a brand new box of 100.
I am aware that PPE is in short supply and am hoping these could be useful.
I already have enough for myself as I'm mainly finishing long term projects in my workshop and have plenty for key worker vehicles if I need to work on them.
I could leave them somewhere for collection or deliver them locally. I would ask that they be for genuine Carers or NHS staff only though please.
Take care and thank you for all your hard work in these unprecedented times, Will.

A notable vehicle of interest for my fellow car enthusiasts who are stuck at home.

Something very special I had the pleasure of working on recently.
This stunning, one of thirty special edition Aston Martin V8s built to specification at Prince Charles's request. This one being the first to go into the factory for it's modifications.
On this particular model the owner had stated that he could no longer select any gears.
After a brief diagnosis, I found there to be a problem with the clutch.
A strip down and inspection revealed the clutch had actually failed, unusually not due to wear as they tend to.
However, this being the special edition it was, I couldn't just source a new clutch from Aston Martin or a motor factor.
With the owners help, we sourced a brand new uprated clutch from the company who carry out the modifications to the engine from new.
Also at the owners request the flywheel was sent off to an engineering firm to be lightened and balanced.
A partial strip down of the gearbox to check for any internal wear was carried out with new gaskets and seals fitted upon rebuilding, and a new input seal was fitted to the differential due to a small leak.
Both the gearbox and rear differential oils were changed with a limited slip diff treatment added.
To be asked to work on a vehicle of this prestige and value really was an honour and definitely something of a talking point for many customers that came in.
I hope you enjoyed this post and are all looking after yourselves. Take care, hopefully see you soon.

Coronavirus update.
--------------------------------

Unfortunately, as of today I will be closing to the public for the upcoming weeks ahead. Certainly something I didn't want to do and even though I'm legally allowed to stay open, I feel it's the right thing to do for my family and in turn our community.
I will be closely monitoring any government instructions and advice and will reopen as soon as its safe to do so.
I will however, support our key workers where possible and if they have a problem of urgency I will help, at reduced costs, out of hours if necessary and with all safety precautions taken.
I will still be on the phone and messaging services as normal and will be happy to offer advice or have a chat about upcoming projects.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me so far and to reassure you I will get back to normal asap.
More importantly, please take care of yourselves and your families by following the government's advice so we can get through this together.
See you soon, Will.

Coronavirus precautions.
----------------------
With these uncertain times we are facing its understandable we need to be using our common sense and all the necessary precautions available.
I have been and will continue to be be using disposable steering wheel covers, seat covers and floor mats. I also have a range of antibacterial products which I am using on door handles and switches etc.
Furthermore I am making sure vehicle windows are left open when possible and my own hands are regularly washed.
If you are unable to, or are limiting your travel, I, as always will provide a collection and delivery service as normal.
More importantly make sure you're looking after yourself and your families.
