Very few preservation era pictures exist of our own ex PMT AEC Reliance / Alexander 'Y Type', FEH 169J. The reason is probably because it only ever made this one trip out, cosmetically restored, to a POPS rally held at the Wedgwood factory in Barlaston, Stoke on Trent. I'd be interested to see any others which folk may have taken on this day.

Always, on a Leopard, check the vent pipe is clear in the filler neck and that water is circulating. This one is now clear and I'm wearing the contents of the cooling system to prove it 🫣

I've not had the opportunity to post much of late with being exceptionally busy, so here's a handful of recent vehicles passing through.
Former Yelloways Plaxton bodied AEC Reliance, HVU 248N had some remedial work done, principally to the fuel system, before heading off to a new home in Cambridgeshire. It didn't go to the person who originally intended to purchase it, but that's nothing to do with 'us' however.
It will I think/ hope, have a bright future in preservation.

ALM 841B was a former London Transport Emergency tender, built like this from new, with a Mann Egerton body on a Leyland Titan PD2 chassis. Multiple jobs were undertaken on this little machine in readiness for an appearance at a classic vehicle auction. I've no idea whether it sold.

Work has commenced properly now on the former Great Yarmouth single deck Atlantean, GEX 741F. Initially our attentions centred on getting it to run (repaired fuel injection pump) and starting to get it watertight. There's no floor in the saloon and what floor there is in the cab is rotten. Sadly in the move, or during its stay at Cobus, the NSF corner panel fibreglass moulding (with headlamp/sidelight recess) has gone missing.

PSV tested following some major surgery around the window apertures is former Reading, Blackpool liveried Optare Excel T935 EAN. I took this photo on the outskirts of Alderley Edge on the first part of its journey home last week.

Following some time away from PSV MoT tests . . . events we've not really missed, Dave had a run out to the test station with this today and came back with the correct result.

End of an era today as Tony Baker retired. He started in the bus industry six months after I did at Stonier's of Goldenhill in 1978. He's worked with me and for me for many of the intervening years, we wish him a long and happy retirement.
He's seen here on the left with some random similar aged fat bloke!
