We have had a number of people ringing for air con regas prices then stating "this garage is doing it for £70"
We feel the need to advise.
The machine cost £7000, you have to legally be certified and registered to supply the service which also cost £150 each for training for 4 members of staff. The gas bottles to purchase in advance are £400 + VAT for 12kg.
We also do a full leak test using nitrogen, as garages should be doing before filling the gas. If the car has a leak, you have paid for a re-gas for nothing elsewhere. We charge £30 for the pressure test if you decide not to proceed. If you have the repair, this charge is waived.
Our price is £60 + VAT plus any gas used. R1234A is £4.50 per 100g and R1234Y is £9.50 per 100g. We only charge the amount needed to top up.
