Quite a poorly low mile breakout in suffering from smoking due to being over filled with oil. Diagnosed initially as valve guide seals. After tear down you can clearly see excessive premature wear to pistons and barrels. Had some very low mile parts on the shelf that customer opted for. The breakout is now happy cruising again smoke free.

Ultra limited low in for a full service, sort some rattles out, make the current silencers louder (baffle removal) and a general clean up. Came out riding, looking and sounding excellent!

Cam tensioners!

It is very well known that the early twin cams suffered premature failure of the cam chain tensioners, in particular the plastic slipper parts. The plastic for whatever reason breaks down due to a manufacturing fault which includes air bubbles in the plastic as shown in the photos.

We have done loads of them this year already. And it’s a main point of paranoia in the ownership of said engines or prospective buyers.

We renew all bearings, chains, slippers and tensioners with replacement parts cut out for the job ( and sometimes bigger cams at request 😎)

Stop worrying let’s get them sorted !

Couple weeks ago kev’s Fatbob in for orange brake lines and screamin eagle heavy breather air cleaner with our touch….

Streetbob came in for some mild custom work. S&S 475c cam, quickee pushrods and lifter cuffs. Custom wheels consisting of 21 inch front wheel with 120 tyre, wider 16inch rear to fit 170 tyre so stock fender can be retained. Rides fantastic with the extra grunt and handles great with the extra rubber.

Dyna in for routine service and rear tyre. Nasty noise, aluminium dust coming from front pulley area. Found broken lock-ring, caught just in time . Lucky customer!

Happy new year all!

Took this earlier thought it was post worthy, whilst puncture slime kits etc are a life saver and get you home when your stuck. Please don’t forget about it and leave it in for years to come.

We’ve seen so many wheels now suffering from heavy corrosion, sometimes to the extent of having to replace the wheel due to this stuff.
