The first Land Rover to be dissected!

4am start to go down south, Martin drove, he wanted the roof rack! 🤣🤣

Been 1 or 2 land rovers through these hands in 9 years 😊😊

It’s not leaking oil, it’s marking its territory! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Little 3 phase board, and wiring for the warehouse.
3x roller shutter feeds
3x socket circuits
4x lighting circuits
1x16 amp outlet
1xTPN SPD
12x LED high bays, on PIRs
3x outside light supply’s (lights needed)
3x CCTV supplies
1x Alarm supply
1x bonding cable to the framework
30m of 3 inch tray
25mm plastic conduit.
Metal clad accessories
Copexed under the eaves, and drilled the 8mm steel with a 20mm bush and locknut 🙈

Total roof height, of nearly 7m
20x25 footprint. 👣

Supply cable fitted, all ready for the big change over later in the week. 💪

Diggers been rained off for today 😬

There has been discussions of solar in the future too 👀👀👀👀 30-40kw potential on the south facing roof 😍

Belt failure

Engines out ready for rebuild;
Trade job, so my jobs done for the minute, I’ll be having a rebuild engine given me back next week, to refit:
No room for a jumbo van at their garage! 👀👀👀

Looks like it’s been down with the titanic!

Gearbox didn’t want to let go off the clutch and flywheel!

Definitely had a continuous water leak for the last 12-18 months, since it was parked up!

Starter and alternator will be sent off for reconditioning too.

Time for some dinner, then off to swap an actuator on another transit van.

Engine bay cleaning for Sunday afternoon, nice steady job.

Nice little wiring job started this week.
Absolutely amazing “ladder/scaffold”
5/6m up in the air, on a 10x5ft platform 💪💪💪

Someone decided they needed all the head height below, so gave me NOTHING to go over the beams with, so up high, cables are put into a copex, and lower down, Iv had to drill out a 20mm hole and put a bush and locknut onto into them 👀👀 needs must!

Little bit of simple Tray work too, with an up and over main run.

Centre lights, wired and working with their PIRs
Rest of the lights part wired
Sockets Fully 1st fixed
Board is mounted ready…

3 phase TPN
With the sites first SPD 😬 thought it best, given it’s in a metal building 🙈🤣🤣 never mind the regs 🤣🤣

Long time since we’ve done any warehouse work with Z perlins, takes me back to when burscough industrial estate was smaller, doing all the warehouses! 👀👀👀👀

Transit 2.0 wetbelt.
Snapped belt.
So engine out, investigate, repair, make good, full service and refit.
She’ll be good for another 173k miles again then 💪💪💪

Just a shame it’s a jumbo! Big L4s fill the yard up, and are HEAVY to push! 🥵

Vans in great condition, definitely been looked after in its previous life…

Make good charcoal when it final falls off!
Few thousands volts, possibly quite a few hundred amps aswell 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀

Part 2 of the ecoboost rebuild:

Fully stripped down to find 14 teeth stripped from the belt, oil strainer full of belt!
Worn bearings:
Very dirty head!

So stripped, cleaned, and re-seated the valves, new stem seals.

Full gasket kit throughout
Including head bolts

New turbo

Refitted the 2000 mile old 3 piece clutch.

New oil/air/pollen service kit
5/20w oil (Ford spec)
Spark plugs
Fresh gearbox oil

New main and big end bearings, even if Ford says it can’t be done! 🙈 (Ford doesn’t supply torque specs for the bearings, as they don’t sell them separately, you have to buy a short motor, bottom 1/2 of the engine)

Full timing kit, including the oil belt and tensioner.

New water pump, auxiliary belt and tensioner too.

Just needs 2x TPMS faults sorting, new mirror and aerial and she’LK be a gooden for another 98k miles 💪💪💪
