Daytime running lights are exactly that – to make yourself visible on the road during the daytime. 🚗

They’re too bright for night driving and don’t light the back of your car.

So SWITCH YOUR HEADLIGHTS ON when it’s getting dark, unless yours are automated.

Check your car’s manual to see if they are.

We’re putting learners in control of their car driving test bookings 🚘

If you’ve got a booking or you’ll be looking for a test soon, make a note of these dates 📅

31 March 2026 – only 2 changes can be made to a booking

12 May 2026 – only learners are allowed to book a test and make changes

9 June 2026 – learners can move their booked test only to nearby centres

By changing who can book car and change driving tests, we’re aiming to reduce the re-selling of driving tests, giving the power back to learners 💪

🚗 Important Update: Managing Your Driving Test Appointment 🚗
(Changes coming from 31 March 2026)

Big changes are coming to how you manage your car driving test, and it’s important every learner knows about this 👇

🔄 Limit on Changes

From 31 March 2026, you will only be able to change your driving test appointment up to 2 times.

Good news 👉 even if you’ve already made changes, everyone starts fresh with 2 changes available.

A “change” includes:
✅ Changing the date or time
✅ Changing the test centre
✅ Swapping your test with another learner

⚠️ Once you’ve used your 2 changes, any further changes mean you’ll need to cancel and rebook a new test.

⏰ What You Should Do BEFORE 31 March 2026

If your test is currently booked:

at a time you don’t plan to use, or

at a test centre you don’t intend to take your test at

👉 Act now and change it to:
✔️ A date when you’ll be fully prepared
✔️ A test centre you genuinely plan to use

This helps protect your 2 changes for when you really need them.

📅 From 31 March 2026

Only use your 2 changes if something unexpected happens

If you cancel with at least 10 full working days’ notice, you’ll still receive a full refund

🚦 Our Advice

Don’t book a test “just in case” but do book in advance due to long waiting times.
The smart approach is to book early, then train properly so you’re test-ready, confident, and fully supported by your instructor 👍
