🔧 Volkswagen Scirocco R – Custom Remap Development
This Scirocco R (Diesel) came in for tuning, but it quickly became clear this wasn’t a straightforward job.
After initial testing, we discovered the vehicle had already been tuned previously — unknown to the customer. The car felt extremely flat low down, only really coming alive around 3400rpm, where it would suddenly spike to ~2 bar of boost.
📊 Diagnostics & Investigation
• Data logs confirmed 2 bar boost pressure
• No fault codes present
• No obvious mechanical issues on inspection
Despite everything looking “normal” on paper, the car’s driveability was far from right.

🔄 Back to Stock
After discussing with the customer, we made the decision to return the vehicle back to stock software.
Immediately, we saw:
• ✅ Restoration of low-down power
• ✅ Much smoother delivery
• ✅ Clean, consistent logs
Although still slightly down on performance, this confirmed the issue was entirely software-related from the previous tune.

⚙️ Safe & Correct Calibration
Given the car had been running poorly for some time (known the exact time has customer only owned the vehicle 3 weeks), we took a measured approach to the new calibration.
Rather than chasing figures, the focus was:
• Smooth, progressive power delivery
• Strong performance across the full rev range
• Maintaining engine safety and reliability

The result is a properly calibrated Scirocco R that now drives exactly as it should:
• Linear power delivery
• No aggressive boost spikes
• Consistent and predictable performance
A great example of why correct tuning matters just as much as peak numbers.
