So what’s actually happening when we connect equipment to a car like this? 💻🔧

Modern cars are essentially networks of electronic systems. The engine ECU, gearbox control unit and other modules communicate with each other and constantly exchange information.

Connecting diagnostic/remapping equipment allows us to communicate with those systems and access the relevant vehicle data.

Depending on the job, that can involve reading ECU information, checking parameters, carrying out tests or working with the vehicle’s calibration.

The laptop is only the interface- understanding the data is the important part. 👀🔧
