We are currently seeking a skilled Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting fault diagnostics (ACTUAL diagnostics, not simply reading DTC’s with a scan tool), servicing & repairs whilst utilising various technical skills to support our projects.

Duties:
- Remove & re-fit engines & transmissions for repairs or performance engine/transmission building
- Ability to replace timing belts & chains, replace clutch/flywheel units & service engines, transmissions & differentials un-assisted
- Load & unload vehicles on to our dyno pre & post tuning (training will be provided)
- Utilise our advanced diagnostic tools to correctly & accurately diagnose faults, then implement the necessary repairs
- Demonstrate mechanical knowledge in troubleshooting & problem-solving

Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience in the automotive industry
- Enthusiasm & passion for modified cars, tuning & upgrades. This is more than just a job to us, we love the industry & take pride in what we do.
- Can-do attitude, even when a job may not be straightforward & there are no clear-cut instructions. You must be able to improvise & have a positive attitude with desire to succeed in your given role.

- Full UK licence required - no more than 6 penalty points
- Understanding of vehicle electronics, basic principles. Further training can be provided for specialist electronics work
- Familiarity with diagnostic scan tools, ability to use applications such as VCDS for data-logging & fault finding
- Excellent attention to detail & problem-solving skills
- Experience with VAG/BMW cars

Further training will be provided so that you can adapt to our way of working & improve your skill set, as long as you have the right attitude we will always be willing to help you learn!

Our own Jack’s 325d E91 getting an intercooler upgrade.

Here’s the original intercooler next to the new Airtec unit, and the difference speaks for itself. The factory intercooler is smaller, more restrictive, and far more prone to heat soak, especially once a diesel turbo car is driven hard or tuned. The Airtec replacement gives you a much larger core, improved airflow, and better cooling efficiency where it matters.

2025 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG S for a pre-track day inspection and brake disc run out inspection.
Before hitting the track, we inspected this A45 to make sure everything is operating as it should under sustained load, not just normal road use.

Brake disc runout is one of the key checks. Even slight deviations in the disc can lead to vibration under braking, uneven pad wear, and reduced braking performance once temperatures rise on track.

We measure runout using a dial gauge mounted to the hub, rotating the disc to check for any lateral movement beyond tolerance. If it’s out, it can point to disc wear, hub contamination, or improper installation.

A full pre-track inspection also covers:
β€’ Brake pad condition and remaining material
β€’ Fluid condition and boiling point
β€’ Tyre condition and pressures
β€’ Suspension and bushings
β€’ Any signs of leaks or excessive play

Track driving exposes every weak point. Catching issues early protects the car, improves consistency, and gives you confidence when pushing harder.

If you’re planning a track day, don’t skip the prep. Book in for an inspection before you hit the track.

Replacing the clutch position and pressure sensors on this DQ381.
This is a job that’s becoming more frequent, particularly as these gearboxes age and see higher mileage or increased load from tuning.

These sensors sit within the mechatronic unit and are responsible for monitoring clutch engagement and hydraulic pressure. Over time, heat cycles, fluid contamination, and general wear can cause them to drift out of tolerance or fail entirely.

Common symptoms include:
β€’ Jerky or inconsistent gear changes
β€’ Delayed engagement when selecting drive or reverse
β€’ Gearbox warning lights or fault codes
β€’ Loss of drive in more severe cases

Unfortunately, there is no quick fix. These sensors cannot be repaired or recalibrated once they begin to fail, and access requires partial disassembly of the gearbox and mechatronic system.

Preventative maintenance is limited, but regular DSG oil and filter changes are critical. Clean fluid helps reduce internal wear and keeps hydraulic pressures consistent, which can extend the life of the sensors and surrounding components.

If your DSG isn’t shifting as it should, it’s worth getting it checked early before a minor issue develops into a more costly repair.
