It really does blow my mind when people think, "You don’t need to service your car!" Or "I never service my car and my car is fine." 🤦

Your car will almost certainly NOT ‘be fine’.

As a bare minimum, we advise 1 oil service per year or after every 10,000 miles. This will not only save you money in the long run but also keep your engine healthy and sustain longevity.

🔧 Transit Troubles!

Got the EGR valve stripped down on this Ford Transit today — and here’s the culprit 👀 The valve’s been seizing up on the mechanical side, putting extra strain on the motor until it finally gave out.

A good reminder that carbon build-up can cause serious issues over time! Time for a clean-up and a fresh start 💨

The vehicle has been returned to the customer and hes back on the road 💪

This future Japanese car, the Lexus IS 200, recently came into the garage for some well-deserved protection work.

We started by using a needle scaler to knock off any surface rust, not only to clean but to check depth of damage (a few components advised to be replaced) ensuring a clean base before applying a full underseal treatment.

Now it’s fully protected — not just for the winter roads, but for years of longevity ahead💪

CALLING ALL TRANSIT OWNERS! 🚐

Did you know we offer services on dreaded Transit timing wetbelt? 🫣

We advise that these belts be changed BEFORE THE MANUFACTURERS SPECIFIED INTERVALS. The dealers originally advised that the timing belt be replaced every 100,000 miles.

Due to well-known evidence that can be found online, we advise that the belt be changed every 50,000 to 60,000 miles at most - half the recommended time.

We advise this because the wet timing belt is prone to breaking up, blocking the oil strainer and also the engine's vaccum pump or even snapping, causing complete engine failure as a worst-case scenario

It is detrimental to the engine's longevity and overall health ans therefore vital that these belts be changed regularly. We offer a full kit replacement using genuine parts and the correct tools to do the job properly.

Luckily enough, we caught this one before the inevitable happened!

Parasitic battery drain fault.

On a Kia Sportage, we had the car draining its brand-new battery over 48 hours.

After an hour or so, we came to believe it was the multimedia unit that was at fault.

It was not switching on, but it was keeping the unit powered up constantly. After removal, we sent the multimedia unit away for test and repair and are awaiting delivery ready for the repaired unit to be reinstalled.

The smallest things can create the biggest inconvenience.

One from today...

Here we have a prime example of a car that hasn't followed a service plan correctly. The last time these spark plugs were changed was 4 years ago (the car had covered over 50,000 miles on these plugs) according to the service record.

The second picture shows cylinder 3 with a broken spark plug. This has happened due to the lack of servicing.

Instead of changing a part that costs as much as a cup of coffee in todays economy, this customer now has an engine that is in need of a full rebuild, costing upwards of £1100.

This could have been easily avoided if a service was carried out annually and followed to the manufacturer specifications.

MERCEDES ML in today for an air bag fault.
This came into us with and "srs" light on the dasboard,

The customer stated that another company had looked at the car but hadn't managed to fix it. 🤔

After scanning the vehicle with our diagnostics, it gave us a rough idea of where to start.
We partially removed the front end of the car to check the suspected faulty component.
The wiring check showed no fault, so the next step, we checked the component directly and bench test it.

To our shock, we found that the pins had been bent out of position, creating an "open circuit" fault.

So with a new part on the way from mercedes and soon to be fitted, this car will be returned to the customer asap to get them back on the road. 👍
