Snaking is very similar to jack-knifing in the way the caravan is destabilised and moves horizontally around the towing hitch axle causing it to veer side-to-side. Caravan snaking is caused by sudden swerves, high speeds and crosswinds mainly but noseweight, tyre blow outs and poor towing can also be a factor

Massive congratulations to Lexie on passing her test today 08/09/26 in Dorchester 🤩👏

Lexie said "I can’t thank Lorraine enough for helping me pass my driving test. She made me feel really comfortable when I was such an anxious driver at the start, she never made me feel silly for making mistakes. I am so grateful for all the time and energy she put in to help me pass my test and I couldn’t have done this without her. I’m definitely going to miss her singing and the laughs we would have. I couldn’t recommend Lorraine and 2nd2none enough"

Well done Lexie and safe driving in the future from your Driving Instructor Lorraine & all the team here at 2nd2None Driving School

On single carriageway roads you might see this “keep left” (or right) sign with flashing amber lights on the back of the works vehicle or the vehicle protecting the works. These lamps flash in pairs from top to bottom. It means there are slow-moving or stationary works vehicles blocking a traffic lane. Pass in the direction shown by the arrow.

There are 4 possible manoeuvre on the driving test. The possible 4 manoeuvres are:

parallel parking, forward bay parking (driving into a bay and reversing out) reverse bay parking (reversing into a bay and driving out) and parking up on the right -(side of the road).

All manoeuvres should be practiced until perfected as a manoeuvre completed unsuccessfully may render the entire driving test a failure.

While trying to combat your nerves, drive only in familiar areas that you know, and preferably in daylight. Here, you’ll be able to anticipate when you need to turn right; what exit you need to take on the roundabout; where the dual carriageways are – meaning there’s likely to be less surprises.

Of course, you can’t account for knowing everything on your route, as there may be temporary traffic lights or roadworks, but at least you’ll know where you are. Try to drive around familiar areas a few times a week for at least 20 minutes, and hopefully soon you’ll get used to it!

Once you become more confident you can add trick areas or areas that are unfamiliar
