Douglass Motors Our story began in 1973, working out of the back of a Land Rover Series I. With only one mechanic and a lot of hard work, our legacy was born.

Another Land Rover in with us after a failed turbocharger and blocked DPF.

On inspection, we found the DPF had become severely blocked after repeated “DPF FULL” warnings on the dashboard were ignored.

As the DPF becomes blocked, exhaust back pressure increases significantly. This puts additional strain on the turbocharger and can ultimately lead to turbo failure, as it did in this case.

🔧 The repair:
✅ Replacement turbocharger
✅ Replacement DPF & EGR
✅ Thorough inspection of the intake & exhaust systems
✅ System checks and diagnostics
✅ Oil change, system reset and correct operation confirmed

⚠️ If your Land Rover displays a “DPF FULL” or DPF warning, don't ignore it. Continuing to drive with a restricted DPF can turn what may initially be a relatively manageable issue into a very expensive turbo, DPF and engine repair.

As Land Rover specialists, we always recommend getting DPF warnings diagnosed promptly rather than simply clearing the message and carrying on.
