Our story began in 1973, working out of the back of a Land Rover Series I. With only one mechanic and a lot of hard work, our legacy was born.

A family operated business since 1973, now a well-established family business specialising in Land Rover's offering vehicle parts, servicing & repair of all vehicles Our passion for quality work, precision engineering and attention to detail has always been at the core of all that we do. In 2017 Douglass Motors opened our branch in Rugby, Warwickshire, and the next chapter in the Douglass Motors story began. With a tight-knit team, we continued to strive to deliver the very best for our existing customers, and our new family here in Rugby. When you become a client at Douglass Motors, you become a part of the Douglass Family. The ethos here at Douglass Motors Rugby is to cherish every car as if it were our own. It's more than a way of working, it's more than simply setting high standards, it's taking pride in our work and putting a piece of ourselves into it. Today we still maintain a small staff of dedicated, skilled engineers, each with a passion for cars and a deep desire to produce excellent work time after time.

Another Land Rover in with us after a failed turbocharger and blocked DPF.

On inspection, we found the DPF had become severely blocked after repeated “DPF FULL” warnings on the dashboard were ignored.

As the DPF becomes blocked, exhaust back pressure increases significantly. This puts additional strain on the turbocharger and can ultimately lead to turbo failure, as it did in this case.

🔧 The repair:
✅ Replacement turbocharger
✅ Replacement DPF & EGR
✅ Thorough inspection of the intake & exhaust systems
✅ System checks and diagnostics
✅ Oil change, system reset and correct operation confirmed

⚠️ If your Land Rover displays a “DPF FULL” or DPF warning, don't ignore it. Continuing to drive with a restricted DPF can turn what may initially be a relatively manageable issue into a very expensive turbo, DPF and engine repair.

As Land Rover specialists, we always recommend getting DPF warnings diagnosed promptly rather than simply clearing the message and carrying on.
