Trainee EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) – Rossendale
We’re looking for someone to join our workshop team and grow with the business.
Full training will be provided, and we will support the successful candidate in working towards nationally recognised industry certifications, with training and certification costs covered by FrontlineFleet.
This is an entry-level role and would be particularly well suited to someone leaving school or college who has an interest in vehicles, engineering, electrics or practical hands-on work. Previous motor trade or workshop experience is also very welcome, but it is not essential.
FrontlineFleet is proud to support initiatives encouraging women and girls into engineering and technical trades. You’ll be joining an existing diverse team of technicians and staff.
Due to the nature of some of the vehicles and organisations we work with, security checks and vetting will form part of the employment process.
The role will involve learning a wide range of skills, including:
* Vehicle strip-down and refitting
* Auto-electrical work
* Emergency warning equipment installation
* Vehicle lighting and accessory fitting
* Interior equipment installation
* Vehicle wraps and reflective marking installation
* Fault finding and diagnostics
* General workshop preparation and organisation
* Working alongside experienced technicians on specialist vehicle builds
A lot of what we do is different from a conventional garage. We build, convert and maintain specialist vehicles including emergency, response and fleet vehicles, so no two jobs are exactly the same.
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to be a qualified mechanic or technician.
We’re looking for someone who:
* Enjoys working with vehicles and practical equipment
* Is willing to learn, listen and ask questions
* Is confident using tools and working on and around vehicles
* Takes pride in their work
* Is reliable and punctual
* Can follow instructions and work safely
* Is happy to get stuck in and help wherever needed
* Wants to develop into a skilled technician and build a long-term career
Experience or an interest in cars, bikes, electronics, engineering, fabrication, 3D printing, design or similar practical hobbies would be useful. This does not need to be formal work experience.
Hours
Monday to Thursday
10:00am – 6:00pm
Four-day working week.
Pay
Starting rate dependent on age, experience and whether the successful applicant joins through an apprenticeship route.
There will be clear opportunities for pay progression as skills, ability and responsibility increase.
Location
Rossendale, Lancashire
This is intended to be a long-term position. The right candidate will gain experience across different areas of the business and be supported in developing into a strong, capable Emergency Vehicle Technician who can take on increasingly complex work as their skills and experience grow.
